Description

THE METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ELECTRONIC COMMERCE
SERVICE FOR MUD GAME
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a system and method for electronic commerce by
using a mud game and a game item based on Internet.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a system and method for electronic commerce by
using a mud game and a game item based on Internet.
MUD is an acronym for Multi User Dimension or Multi User in Dungeon. Also,
multiple users can play the mud game in the same cyber space at the same time. The mud
game is an RPG(Role Playing Game) type developed from the Table Talk RPG and is a
text type game in general. Most of the users play the mud game through the Internet. The
developed mud game provides a graphic mode. In general, the user can play the mud game
after the user downloads the mud game client program and installs it on his computer.
The electronic commerce based on Internet accomplishes all transactions
electronically by using the information technique. Consequently, users can get accurate and
prompt information while enterprises can increase profits.
The electronic commerce interchanges the information related to the transactions by using means like EDI(Electronic Data Interchange), E-Mail, Bar-Code, EFT(Electronic
Fund Transfer), file transmission, electronic information service, voice mailbox, image
system, and video messaging. Also, the electronic commerce recreates the business method
of the enterprise and improves the construction of the enterprise. Also, the enterprise
provides improved service to customers through the electronic commerce, gains an
advantage over the competition, reduces the cost, seeks the maximum profit.
Recently, as users of the mud game have increased, the game item purchase
market has undergone development. Also, as the electronic commerce is activated,
competition has become an urgent problem.
A prior patent application is entitled 'Internet business model by the connection of
the on-line role-playing game and the off-line manufacturing company '(hereinafter,
referred to as "the prior invention").
The object of the prior invention is to create profits by replacing the game item of
the on-line role-playing game with the product of the off-line manufacturing company. To
accomplish the object, the prior invention replaces the game item of the on-line role-
playing game with the product of the off-line manufacturing company and provides a
shopping mall, where the game user can purchase the game item. The prior invention
provides the same designed products as the game items through the off-line manufacturing
company. The products can be shoes, accessories, clothing etc. That is, not the specific
game items but products based on the model of the game item are sold through the off-line manufacturing company in the prior invention. Consequently, the prior invention does not
provide for the purchase of the game items.
Therefore, one object of the present invention is to provide an electronic
commerce service method and system for purchasing the game item based on the mud
game and the Internet.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide an electronic commerce
service method and system for purchasing the game item through the off-line member store
in cooperation with the game server.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide an electronic commerce
service method and system for purchasing the item product based on the mud game and the
Internet. The item product is a product that provides a product and a game item
corresponding to the product together.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide an electronic commerce
service method and system for purchasing the item product through the off-line member
store in cooperation with the game server.
Still another object of the present invention is to provide an electronic commerce
service method and system
Another object of the present invention is to provide an electronic auction service
method and system for purchasing the game item and the item product based on the mud
game and the Internet auction. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
To accomplish the objects of the present invention according to one preferred
embodiment of the present invention, a method is provided for receiving a member's
identification and an item identification, storing an item purchase list corresponding to the
item identification on a purchase list database, and transmitting the item purchase list to the
game server, wherein the game server stores the item purchase list on a purchase item
database.
To accomplish the objects of the present invention according to another preferred
embodiment of the present invention, a method is provided for receiving an item purchase
request comprising a member's identification and an item identification from a game user,
receiving settlement information for paying the price for the purchase item from the game

through the shopping mall server 1201 in cooperation with the game server 101.
Referring to FIG. 12, the game server 101 comprises the game process module
103 and the purchase item management module 105. And the game server 101 is coupled
with the database server 113.
The shopping mall server 1201 in cooperation with the game server 101 comprises
an electronic commerce process module 1203 and is coupled with a database server 1205.
The database server 113 comprises the game database 115, the game user
database 117, and the purchase item database 119. The game server 101 and the shopping mall server 1201 are connected with a
product delivery enterprise 1215 and a card company and a settlement agency 111,
which settles payment of the price of the purchased game item, and through the network
109. The product delivery enterprise 1215 delivers the item product, which is purchased
by the game user 123, to the game user 123. The item product is a product that provides
a product and a game item corresponding to the product together. And the item information
is stored on the database server 113. And the item product is a couple of one product and

purchaser must appoint the game user 123. For example, an item product is a bicycle,
and the game item corresponding to the item product is a defensive weapon of the game
character 'Dikoo'. If the item product is registered at the shopping mall site and the
purchaser Mr. Kim wants to provide the game item for his daughter, then the purchaser
must input the game site URL(Uniform resource locator), which has been entered into
by his daughter, and his daughter's game user identification on the shopping mall site.
The information of the item purchased on the shopping mall site(i.e., item
purchase information) can be transmitted to the game user 123 directly.
For example, the game server 101 decides which items are sold through the
shopping mall server 1201 and gives each of the items an item identification and
authentication information and provides the items to the shopping mall server 1201. The
shopping mall server 1201 sells the items and transmits the item identification and the
authentication information to the game user 123. Then the game user 123 registers the
item, which is provided by the game server 101, as his item by using the item
identification and the authentication information. If the game user has the same plural game items, then the game server 101 creates an item identification comprising a serial
number. For example, if the game user has three armors and the item identification of
the armor is 'UK1025', then each item identification of the items can be 'UK1025_1',
<UK1025_2' and 'UK1025_3'.
