The inventive method for publishing, retrieving, gathering and exchanging information on global and local networks consists in forming a specific file, filling said file by a person publishing information and placing the file on the cite of said person. File data is modified in accordance with real changes. A user requesting a searching agent for information receives data from the file, but not the reference to a source. Said method makes it possible to accelerate the retrieval and exclude 'dead references'.
