Abstract

Apparatus (16) and a method for roll bending heated glass sheets (G) includes a pair of sets (38) of bending rolls (40) and a support and drive mechanisms (44) that supports and rotatively drives the bending rolls at progressively increasing inclinations through the lateral sides (42) of the insulated housing (30) of a heating chamber (32) of a roll bending station (18) to provide engagement and bending at opposite lateral sides of a conveyed glass sheet. Glass sheets enter the roll bending station on the conveyor rolls (36) of a roll conveyor (34).
