Abstract

An operating system (28) for a functional electrical stimulation system (FES) is comprised of a structure of user interface modules (48, 56, 58, 60, 62, 64) that correlates with the components of the FES system. This modular structure enables the ability to readily add modules of program language to support new components to the FES system, as well as enables the operating system (28) to support multiple FES systems for a single patient.
