Abstract

An organic light emitting device that may have mixed organic layers is provided. A method of fabricating such an organic light emitting device is provided. A first organic material is solution deposited to form a patterned organic layer over a first electrode. A second organic materials is deposited, by means other than solution processing, on and in physical contact with the first organic layer to form a second organic layer. The second organic layer forms a blanket layer over the first organic layer. A second electrode is then deposited over the second organic layer.
