Abstract

The invention relates to an apparatus for treating defects of vessels, more particularly varicose veins, using high frequency energy and comprising a high frequency generator and a working probe or high frequency area that is connected to the high frequency generator by means of which the treatment of the vessel can be carried out. A catheter which is placed beforehand is provided in order to introduce the working probe into the vessel or the high frequency area comprises a transmitter and a receiver and at least the receiver is provided in the catheter that is to be placed in the vessel.
