Abstract

A process for providing a polymeric colloid, includes: dissolving a polymer in a first solvent to form a first solution; adding a second solvent to the first solution to form a second solution; adding a third solvent to the second solution to provide the polymeric colloid, wherein: the first solvent is miscible with the third solvent; and the third solvent predominantly comprises water. Polymeric colloids prepared by the process are also disclosed. The graph shows the polymeric colloid surface charge (i.e., zeta potential) as a of pH for poly(dl-lactide-co-glycolide), PLGA, and blends thereof.
