Abstract

Electronic monitoring systems(10) and methods that permit full-time tracking and management of, and communication with, monitored clents(11) that carry a client tracking unit(13) and wear a transmitter(12), by a monitoring individual(41) that carries a wireless portable monitoring device(40). A central monitoring station(20) having a central database(30) is ported to a plurality of processor interfaces, including RP, GPS, and integrated voice. The central database(30) is wirelessly linked to the portable monitoring device(40), which is programmed to remotely track and manage clients(ll) by way of the respective interfaces. The client tracking unit(13) has a GPS receiver(23) that receives position signals from satellites orbiting the Earth to permit tracking of the client. Information regarding specific clients or a group of clients may be retrieved from the central monitoring station, modifie by the monitoring individual, or selected clients may be directly communicated.
