As shown in the drawings, a dashboard cover according to the present invention includes: a cover member 5 having the same size as a window 35 of an automobile and having a lower end portion 1, a middle portion 2 and an upper end portion 3; a fixing clip 10 for enabling a safe mounting and a direction change of the cover member 5; and a fixing member 15 for closely fixing the cover member 10 to a dashboard 30. . The cover member 5 mainly functions to prevent an image of the dashboard 30 from being reflected to the window 35 due to reflection of light and to block a direct ray of light incident to the inside of the automobile. To prevent the reflection of the light from the dashboard 30, the cover member 5 must be mounted on the upper surface of the dashboard 30 in a state where the cover member 5 is collapsed. However, to prevent incoming of the direct ray of light into the inside of the automobile, the cover member 5 must be spread and fixed to cover the whole surface of the window 35.
The cover member 5 has the same size as the window 35 of the automobile, and includes the lower end portion 1, the middle portion 2 and the upper end portion 3. It is preferable that the lower end portion 1 has the same size as the dashboard 30, the middle portion 2 is about two thirds size of the lower end portion 1, and the upper end portion 3 is about a third size of the lower end portion 1. The lower end portion 1 and the upper end portion 3 respectively have steel wires la and 3a arranged on the external borders thereof in order to maintain safe fixation and tension of the cover member 5. Furthermore, the cover member 5 includes fastener tapes lb and 2a sewed integrally with the lower portion (bottom of the lower end portion) and with both sides of the cover member 5 at regular intervals. The fastener tape lb sewed on the lower portion of the cover member 5 is bonded integrally with a bonding plate 8 of the fixing clip 10 which will be described later, and the fastener tapes 2a sewed on the both sides of the cover member .5 are bonded with adjustable bands 4 and joined with permanent magnets 35b fixed on both sides of the window 35. The adjustable band 4 includes a fastener tape 4a adhered on a side thereof, and a permanent magnet 4b fixed on the external end portion thereof, and is bonded with the fastener tape 2a sewed on the side surface of the cover member 5. The reason why the adjustable band 4 is separately mounted is to fix the cover member 5 to the window regardless of the size of the window since the size of the window is different according to kinds of automobiles .
The cover member 5 may have an advertising pattern 5a printed on the middle portion 2 and the upper end portion 3 thereof so as to provide an advertising function when the cover member 5 is spread. A fastener tape 5b of a rectangular form is adhered on a side of the lower end portion 1 in order to attach or detach a phone number label thereon. The cover member 5 having the above structure is safely fixed on the upper surface of the dashboard 30, and at the same time, the fixing clip 10 which is vertically collapsible is mounted. The fixing clip 10 includes a substrate 6 fixed on the window 35, a movable piece 7 connected to the substrate 6 and adapted to move pivotally within an angle range between 0° and 180° , and a bonding plate 8 connected to the outer end portion of the movable piece 7 and bonded with the fastener tape lb of the cover member 5. The substrate 6 is in the form of a cone which is gradually narrowed toward the top, and includes a guide groove 6a formed on the center of the upper portion thereof and having a predetermined width, an opening 6b formed on the center of the guide groove 6a, and pin holding indents 6d formed on both sides of the opening 6b for inserting both ends of a pin 6c thereinto. The opening 6b is closed by a cap 6e having the same size as the opening 6b. The substrate 6 further includes a double coated adhesive tape 6f mounted on the bottom surface thereof so as for the substrate 6 to be safely fixed on the automobile. The movable piece 7 connected to the substrate 6 includes a pin insertion hole 7a formed inside an end portion thereof for
inserting the pin 6c thereinto, and a ball 7b formed on the other end portion thereof and connected to the bottom surface of the bonding plate 8. To connect the movable piece 7 to the substrate 6, after the pin 6c is inserted into the pin insertion hole 7a by passing the end portion, where the pin insertion hole 7a is formed, through the opening 6b, the pin 6c protruding outwardly from the movable piece 7 is inserted into the pin holding indents 6d. After that, the cap 6e and the double coated adhesive tape 6f are joined and fixed to the substrate 6 from the outside in order. Moreover, the bonding plate 8 connected to the outer end portion of the movable piece 7 further includes a fastener tape
8a located on the outer surface thereof, and the ball 7b mounted on the outer end portion of the movable piece 7 is connected to the bottom surface thereof. In addition, instead of the bonding plate 8 which is connected to the end portion of the movable piece 7 and bonded integrally with the cover member 5, a cord may be adopted. The cord connected with the cover member 5 has the same effect as the bonding plate 8. Meanwhile, the fixing member 15 for safely fixing the cover member 5 on the upper surface of the dashboard 30 which may be manufactured in various shapes includes a frusto-conical body 11 fixed on the dashboard 30, and a mounting plate 13 connected integrally with the body 11 and having a ball joint 12 formed integrally therewith for changing its movement direction at a predetermined angle. The body 11 is made of soft material, and includes a double
coated adhesive tape 11a located on the bottom surface thereof to be bonded to the dashboard 30, and a recess lib formed in the center of the top surface thereof to be matched with the ball joint 12. The mounting plate 13, which is connected with the body 11 and has the ball joint 12 changing its movement direction at the predetermined angle, is in the form of a disc in which a permanent magnet 13a is buried. A height adjustable piece 14 in which a permanent magnet 14a is buried is mounted and joined on the upper surface of the mounting plate 13 by magnetic force of the permanent magnet 13a. The mounting plate 13 connected to the body 11 changes its movement direction at an angle of 30° in all directions on a perpendicular line by the ball joint 12. The reason for this is to firmly fix the cover member 5 by changing the movement direction of the mounting plate 13 according to the shape of the dashboard 30. As shown in FIGs. 4 and 5, the present invention is mounted and fixed on right and left surfaces of the lower portion of the window 35 using the double coated adhesive tape 6f bonded on the bottom surface of the substrate 6 having the fixing clip 10. The fastener tape 8a bonded on the outer surface of the bonding plate 8, which is fixed on the window 35 and changes in its position by an angle of 180° by the movable piece 7, is bonded integrally with the fastener tape lb sewed integrally with the lower end portion of the cover member 5. If there is a severe deviation in height of the dashboard 30, the fixing member 15 is fixed on a lower portion of the dashboard 30, and the permanent magnet 13a inburied in the mounting plate 13 is
connected with the steel wires la and 3a of the cover member 5, so that the cover member 5 is closely fixed to the upper surface of the dashboard 30. As described above, the cover member 5 is safely fixed on the upper surface of the dashboard 30 by the fixing clip 10, and is firmly mounted on the dashboard 30 without separation during driving . As described above, by the cover member 5 seated on the upper surface of the dashboard 30, the present invention can secure a driver's field of vision by absorbing a direct ray of light coming into the dashboard 30 and preventing an image of the dashboard 30 from being reflected to the window due to light reflection of the dashboard 30, and extend lifetime of relevant devices and prevent a temperature rise inside the automobile by preventing heating of the dashboard. To avoid other person's eyes or prevent incoming of the direct ray of light into the automobile when the automobile is parked or stopped, the cover member 5 seated on the upper surface of the dashboard 30 is spread, the permanent magnet 3a mounted on the upper end portion of the cover member 5 is joined with the permanent magnet 35a mounted on the window 35, and the permanent magnet 4b mounted on the adjustable band 4 is also joined with the permanent magnet 35b mounted on the window 35. Then, the cover member 5 covers the front of the window 35 while maintaining a predetermined tension, so that the present invention can prevent incoming of the direct ray of light into the automobile and maintain the inside temperature of the automobile at low temperature in the summer season when the outside temperature rises highly.
Meanwhile, if necessary, the permanent magnets 4b fixed on the adjustable bands 4 bonded on both sides of the cover member 5 are joined with the permanent magnets 35b mounted on the window 35, so as to cover only a part of the window 35 with the cover member 5, and so, the driver can drive slowly in a state where a part of the window 35 is shielded from the light.
Industrial Applicability As described above, the present invention can prevent light reflection and secure the driver's field of vision by covering the upper surface of the dashboard when the cover member is collapsed, and prevent incoming of the direct ray of light into the automobile and maintain the inside atmosphere of the automobile agreeably by covering the front surface of the window when the cover member is spread.
