Abstract

An egress latch system for high strength screens provides for latch actuation manually or by contact with an associated window, whereby a latch equipped screen frame remains tightly closed until actuation of one or more latches to allow for egress through the opening. The egress latch system provides for multiple interconnected or interoperative latches, connected in series or in parallel and attached to screen frames, and simultaneous release of all of the latches for swift opening particularly for emergency egress.
