Abstract

The invention relates to a vehicle seat (1) comprising a seat element (2) with at least one central zone (2a) and at least one edge zone (2b, 2c). The central zone comprises a seat cover (30), whose exterior is impermeable to air and permeable to water vapour and a cushion element (7). An air-conducting spacer (6) is located between the seat cover (30) and the cushion element (7), in order to conduct a first air stream (50) through the spacer (6) in a direction that runs parallel to the seat cover (30). The first edge zone (2b, 2c) comprises an air-permeable edge-zone seat cover (40), so that a second air stream (60) can flow through the seat cover (40) to the exterior. In the central zone(s) (2a), the majority of the moisture that has collected is transferred to the spacer (6) and is evacuated by means of the first air stream (50).

Description

F a h r z e u g s i t z F in a c tio n s
The present invention relates to a vehicle seat for use in all types of vehicles.
Sitting on normal vehicle seats, for example in standard equipped cars, can be unpleasant, especially on longer journeys and after physical efforts before driving, at high temperatures and / or high air humidity. Since no air can circulate between the body and the vehicle seat, the body starts to sweat there especially. As a result, moisture accumulates in the body contact area, and the temperature in this area also increases. This effect is not only unpleasant but can also lead to fatigue of Fah¬ rers.
Daher wurde beispielsweise in der U.S. Patentanmeldung Nr. Thus, for example, US Patent Application No. US 2002/0003362 A1 has proposed a vehicle seat which provides for ventilation of the body contact surfaces by means of openings in the seat surface and the backrest through which air is directed onto the body. However, the sweat is only partially dried, since most of the openings are closed during sitting by the body, so that no air can escape from these. The more openings are closed, the stronger the air flow through the other openings. The air flowing from the other openings, for example between the legs, is perceived as unpleasant by some people. The accumulation of moisture in the body contact area is thus only marginally avoided, and there continues to be a poor circulation of air between the body and the vehicle seat. Consequently, the temperature in the body contact areas continues to increase with time. It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a vehicle seat with an improved dehumidification and simultaneous cooling for a person sitting on the vehicle seat.
The object is achieved with a vehicle seat having the features of the independent claim. In dependent claims advantageous developments and refinements of the invention are given.
A vehicle seat according to the invention comprises a seat element in which a cushion element and an air-permeable spacer are arranged between the seat cover and the upholstery element below an outer, water vapor-permeable seat cover layer. In this context, the seat element described below relates not only to the seat area of a seat but also to the backrest or other elements of a multi-part seat construction. Central areas are areas in which the body of an average person touches the vehicle seat ("body contact areas"). These central areas are impermeable to air and permeable to water vapor, by e.g. entwe¬ the seat cover itself comprises an extremely dense fabric or by preferably an air impermeable, wasserdampfdurch¬ permeable layer is disposed under the seat cover. The seat element has at least one edge area in addition to the central area. If, for example, the seat area of a vehicle seat is considered, the side cheeks or the front edge area of the seat are referred to as edge areas. The edge regions are usually not touched by the person sitting on the seat and advantageously have an air-permeable seat cover layer.
The air permeability of fabrics is determined according to the European standard EN ISO 9237 (1955) and expressed in l / m 2 / s. In cooperation With the invention, the air permeability is defined by a value <0.1 l / m 2 s Pa. This makes it possible in the Körperkontaktberei¬ chen below the seat cover to guide a first air flow parallel to the seat cover, without this is perceived by the person sitting on the seat person. In the peripheral regions of the vehicle seat, on the other hand, air can be directed outwards through the seat cover.
The most important requirement, however, is that moisture, e.g. Sweat through the seat cover can pass. In textile upholstery, this is readily guaranteed since fabric covers act as a wick for moisture. Standard leather car seat covers are not or hardly breathable, i. At best, they can dissipate only minimal amounts of water vapor. However, there are also breathable leathers which are sufficiently moisture-permeable without perforation and can therefore be used for seat covers. Of course, perforated leather or Alcantara can also be used for the seat cover instead of steam-permeable leather upholstery.
If it is a leather cover, its outside is usually largely sealed with a protective layer. The moisture permeability of a leather seat cover therefore essentially depends on the water vapor transport properties of the protective layer. For the purposes of the present invention, the leather cover should preferably have an MVTR value (according to DIN 53 333) of greater than 10 mg / cm 2 h. Particularly preferred are breathable leathers with an MVTR value of more than 12 mg / cm 2 h. Such leathers are available, for example, from Lederfabrik Vogl in Maintofen / Austria. In the case of a non-breathable, in particular fully sealed, leather cover, macro- or micro-perforation of the cover is also possible. Under microperforated leather is a Leather with usually produced in a Nadelungsprozeß pores having a pore diameter of 80 .mu.m to 100 μτn to understand. Conventional microperforced leathers with a thickness of between 1.9 mm and 2.5 mm achieve an MVTR value between 2 and 6 mg / cm 2 h, which is unsatisfactory for the purposes of the invention. Macroperforated leather, in which the holes are visible, achieve MVTR values of> 10 mg / cm 2 h, depending on the hole density and hole size, and are therefore more suitable for the purposes of the invention.
If moisture in the form of sweat now collects between the body of the person sitting on the seat and the vehicle seat ("body contact surfaces"), it is conducted away from the body due to a partial pressure difference through the water vapor-permeable seat cover and reaches the spacer. There, the moisture is detected and dissipated by the first air flow running parallel to the seat cover, whereby dehumidification and cooling in the body contact areas are carried out. The seat cover on one side of the spacer and the air-impermeable cushion on the other side define an air duct for the air guided through the spacer. The spacer is designed in such a way that the first air flow in the spacer in a direction parallel to the seat cover at a pressure drop between 10 and 50 Pa over a distance of 40 cm has a speed between 10 and 100 cm / s, preferably between 20 and 70 cm / s. In the vast majority of driving situations, however, only much smaller quantities of moisture need to be transported away, so that the air velocities are in fact substantially lower at most times. In order to limit the noise development of the fans associated with the airflow generation, it is expedient a Sitztemperaturrege¬ treatment analogous to the internal temperature control of modern vehicle air conditioning systems provided. In this case, for example, a desired seat temperature is preselected by the user, which is then achieved by automatic continuous regulation of the fans after a short time. Dehumidification and heat conduction lower the temperature at the body contact surfaces, which is immediately perceived as a pleasant effect by the person. By placing the spacer directly below the seat cover creates short diffusion paths for moisture and good heat conduction.
The seat according to the invention combines this first air flow with a second air flow emerging from the edge regions of the seat. Due to the fact that the second air flow flows out of the seat cover in the edge regions of the seat, an additional cooling effect is created, which the person perceives soo. So that this second air flow does not lead to unpleasant draft phenomena, which are perceived differently from person to person, it can preferably be individually reduced or switched off completely by means of a suitable control. Surprisingly, it has been shown that it is only through the combination of the two above-described functionalities that a significantly improved seating comfort, which is immediately noticeable, is achieved. Furthermore, such a vehicle seat has a simple structure and can be easily integrated into a seat and backrest element.
DieIn a particularly preferred embodiment of the invention, the central region of the vehicle seat comprises a separate, between the spacer and the seat cover arranged water vapor permeable, luftun¬ permeable layer. Suitable materials for the air-impermeable, water vapor-permeable layer are, in particular, polyurethane (PUR), polypropylene and polyesters, including polyether esters and their laminates, as described in US Pat. Nos. 4,725,418 and 4,493,870. ben are. However, particularly preferred is stretched microporous polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE), as described, for example, in the publications US Pat. No. 3,953,566 and US Pat. No. 4,187,390. This layer may be a textile or a membrane or a membrane laminate, the membrane advantageously being, for example, microporous (eg ePTFE) or monolithic (eg PUR). If the membrane used is a microporous membrane of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE), it preferably has a thickness of between 10 and 150 μm and a porosity of between 70 and 85%. A microporous layer is understood as meaning a layer whose average pore size is between about 0.1 μm and about 2.0 μm. The
Pore size can be measured with the Coulter Porometer (trade name) manufactured by Coulter Electronics, Inc., Hialeath, Florida, USA.
The first air flow in the spacer is preferably generated with at least one blower device. For example, Axial fans or centrifugal fans developed by the company Pope can be used as blower units. For this air flow in Abstands¬ holder is sufficient a fan device with low power, for example 0.5 to 2 W. It can be operated via the vehicle battery, even if the engine is switched off. For example, the blower device may turn on automatically when the vehicle is unlocked. Activation by remote control or timer is also possible. A timing of the blower device may be useful, the frequency of the clock and the time of cooling per cycle can be adjusted automatically depending on the Sitztempera¬ tur.
For the edge regions of the vehicle seat, normally without body contact, somewhat stronger blower devices are expediently used, for example with 2 to 5 W, in order to generate a sufficient second air stream, which is blown through the seat cover layer to the outside. The air flow in the edge region at a pressure gradient between 30 and 100 Pa has a speed between 5 cm / s and 1 m / s. The seat cover layer in the edge regions is permeable to air, wherein in the context of the invention the air permeability value is greater than 0.1 l / m 2 s Pa, preferably> 0.5 l / m 2 s Pa. Preferably, this Gebläse¬ device is individually adjustable to adjust the air flow to the conditions and preferences can. If necessary, the blower device for this area can also be switched off completely, as a result of which the person sitting on the seat can choose between "no draft" and "direct airflow".
The blower devices should be arranged so that they suck air from the bottom, since there the air is cooler. Preferably, the blower devices are provided in the vicinity of the ventilation outlets of the vehicle, which are located, for example, below the seat, so that air exiting from these outlets and cooled and dried when using an air-conditioning system is drawn in. Alternatively, the driving seat can be connected directly to the air conditioning. In this case, can be dispensed with the separate blower devices of the vehicle seat and a person sitting on the seat can flow around in the areas without body contact through the air conditioning of the vehicle with cold air. The sucked by the blower air can also be cooled by a separate cooling device / eg a Peltier element, before.
In this case, in each of the described cases, the air which flows below the body contact areas is discharged in one or more areas which are sufficiently removed from the suction area of the blower devices, thereby avoiding the suction of the discharged air which is warmed up and Contains moisture removed from the body contact surfaces.
According to a particular embodiment, a common Gebläseeinrich¬ device for generating both air flows is provided. In this case, the air flow flowing through the seat cover in the areas without body contact can advantageously be adjusted individually via a valve.
Furthermore, the first and second air streams can be generated by a common blower device. That is to say, the air flows, for example, from the middle of the central seat area parallel to the seat cover into the edge area, in order then to flow outward through the air-permeable seat cover layer of the edge areas. In this case, the air flow generated by means of this blower device in the spacer can have a very high speed, since the person sitting on the seat, the air flow below the • seat cover can not feel if, as preferred, an air-impermeable Layer (eg a membrane) between the outer seat cover layer and the spacer is arranged.
As a spacer between the seat cover and upholstery, it is possible to use any flat, open structure which, on the one hand, permits a flow through to divert water vapor passing through the seat cover and which, on the other hand, is sufficiently flexible and yet pressure-stable, so that it can also be under the weight of a not collated on her burdening person. Particularly suitable are three-dimensional textiles, for example woven, knitted or knitted fabric made of synthetic fibers. However, it is also possible to use woven, knitted or knitted fabrics made of metal fibers. If, for example, a membrane is arranged between the spacer and the seat cover, it can be fixedly connected to the surface of the spacer, for example sewn or adhesively bonded.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the spacer is a three-dimensional spacer fabric with two outer, air-permeable layers. In between elements are arranged, which connect the two outer layers in the vertical direction and keep at a distance. At least the outer cover facing the seat cover consists of yarns adjacent to one another, wherein directly adjacent yarns are selectively connected to each other in a horizontal direction. The elements between the outer layers meander between the two layers and are connected alternately to one and the other outer layer.
The spacer fabric is preferably flexible and consists of polyester, polyamide, polypropylene and / or polyethylene. It is a dimensionally stable three- 'dimensional fiber woven fabric, also known as "3D mesh" is known. Beispiels- For example, the article may be used with the No. 5911 or 5556 by the company Müller Textil in 51674 Wiehl-Drabenderhöhe, Germany. The structure of the spacer fabric is very simple. Furthermore, such a spacer fabric provides sufficient flexibility for a comfortable sitting feeling and sufficient pressure stability for a long service life. Its simple construction makes it very compatible with most seat covers.
The membrane and the spacer fabric are preferably laminated. In order to prevent the spacer structure from being pressed onto the seat cover, a further, finer spacer fabric, for example a nonwoven fabric, lying between the spacer fabric and the seat cover can be provided. The nonwoven preferably consists of wool or synthetic fibers or a mixture of both. To further ensure a reliable removal of moisture, the fleece is as thin as possible and as thick as necessary determined. Since this fleece can be very thin, the transport of moisture into the spacer fabric is not substantially hindered. As a result, the moisture can continue to penetrate into the spacer fabric and be transported away from there. Another advantage of the additional nonwoven is that the Sitzkomiort the vehicle seat according to the invention is further increased.
Darin zeigen:In addition, a seat heater can be integrated in the fleece. For example, a network of conductive material, for example carbon, metal or plastic fibers, may be provided in the fleece, which are preferably flat and, for example, 3 mm wide. In areas between the heating wires, the fleece can have recesses in order to prevent the transport of water vapor as little as possible. The invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings. Show:

Figure 1 shows a vehicle seat 1 in plan view, consisting of a seat member 2 and a back element 3, the structure of which is described below in more detail with reference to Figures 2 and 3. In the following, the invention will be described only with reference to the seat element 2, since the back element at least in its central area has, in principle, the identical structure with the identical effect. The seat member 2 has a central region 2a, hereinafter referred to as the body contact region ", since when an average person sitting on the seat, approximately DIE This area comes into contact with the body. The actual body contact area depends on each person individually and is indicated by way of example in FIG. 1 as hatched area.
The seat member 2 includes in the illustrated embodiment of the weite¬ Ren three edge portions 2b, 2c, which are usually no body contact areas (lateral cheeks 2b) or at least area with low body contact (front thigh support 2c). Here, the body contact portions 2a of the seat member 2 are formed such that a first airflow 50 can be made to pass parallel to the outer seat cover, but the first airflow 50 can not penetrate outwardly in the body contact areas to be seated on the seat Person is imperceptible. The first airflow 50 may be directed through an opening 19 into the central area, for example, and be discharged from the area through an opening 20. The arrangement of the air inlet and outlet can also be chosen differently. Only in the edge regions can a second air flow 60 be generated outwardly through the seat cover.
Figure 2 now shows the detailed structure of the body contact region 2a of the seat member 2 of Figure 1 in cross section. Listed from top to bottom, the body contact region 2a has the following layer structure: a seat cover layer 4 which is permeable to water vapor, a water-impermeable, air-impermeable layer 5, a three-dimensional spacer fabric 6 and a padding element 7. If a person sits down on the vehicle seat 1, forms himself the time moisture in Körperkontakbereich 2a. The combination of the seat cover layer 4 and the water vapor permeable, air-impermeable layer 5 is referred to below as the seat cover 30. 'Furthermore, the temperature in the central area increases with time. The Moisture passes through the seat cover layer 4 and the water vapor permeable layer 5 into the spacer fabric 6, which is shown in FIG. 2 with the thicker dashed arrows.
By the spacer fabric 6 air is actively flowed through to allow the Ab¬ line of passing through the seat cover 30 passing water vapor. As a result, the partial pressure difference is maximized as a driving force for the transport of water vapor between the seat surface and the air duct. With its rear side adjoins the spacer fabric 6 to the pad 7, which is for example a closed-cell foam core. The first air stream 50 guided through the spacer fabric 6, which is represented by the thin arrows in FIG. 2, is therefore forcibly guided substantially parallel between the air-impermeable layer 5 and the closed-cell upholstery.
Breathable leather, perforated leather, microfibers such as Alcantara or a woven textile cover can be used as the material for the water-vapor-permeable seat cover layer 4. The seat cover layer 4 should preferably have a RET value of 5 to 20 m 2 Pa / W.
For example, a microporous or monolithic membrane or laminates of, for example, polyurethane, polypropylene and polyester, including polyether esters, can be used as the water-vapor-permeable, air-impermeable layer 5. Such a membrane 5 is relatively thin compared to the seat cover layer 4 and, in the case of a microporous membrane of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE), may have a thickness between 10 and 150 μm and a porosity between 70 and 85%. AIs Abstandsgewirk 6 any open structure into consideration on the one hand is flexible to give the seat 1 a comfortable seating, but on the other hand can not completely zusammen¬ press under pressure so that a ventilation of the spacer fabric 6 is ensured under all circumstances. The spacer fabric has a thickness between 2 and 20 mm, preferably between 5 and 12 mm, particularly preferably about 10 mm. A particularly preferred spacer fabric will be described below with reference to FIG.
The necessary first air flow rate 50 through the spacer fabric 6 for dehumidifying the vehicle seat 1, which is represented by the thinner arrows, is low. Therefore, a simple blower device 8 with low power is sufficient, for example a ventilator with a power of between 0.5 and 2 W in order to remove the moisture in the spacer fabric 6. In this case, the fan 8 directly or indirectly connected to the ventilation system or the air conditioning of the vehicle. The layer structure of the cheek areas 2b is in principle identical to that of the body contact area 2a, but the Sitzbezug¬ layer 40 is permeable to air in any case and below the seat cover layer 40 is in particular no water vapor permeable, air-impermeable layer 5 is arranged so that the second air stream 60 from the Abstandsge¬ 6 can pass outward.
Preferably, a nonwoven layer (not shown) between the seat cover 40 of the edge region and the spacer fabric 6 is provided in the cheek areas 2b only in the regions of the fan. This additional nonwoven layer serves as a baffle layer for the fan generated by the fans second air flow 60 and supports a uniform air distribution, da¬ with the air is not only in the areas of the blower devices through the seat cover 40 is flowed. Through the cheek areas 2b of the vehicle seat 1, which are not body contact areas in the sense of the invention, a second air stream 60 can therefore be blown out through the seat cover 40 over the entire area. For this purpose, preference is given to using blower devices 9 with more power, for example fans having a power of between 2 and 5 W, which then, as can be seen from a combination of FIGS. 1 and 3, be arranged below the cheek areas 2b of the backrest element 3 can. Individually adjustable fans are particularly preferably used for these areas in order to be able to control the air blown through the edge areas 2b, 2c accordingly.
Below the seat element shown in Figure 3A, the vehicle floor 21 is indicated. In the area below the blower devices 8 and 9, a fan outlet 22 of the vehicle ventilation is provided. Advantageously, the air exiting from the outlet 22 is sucked in through the ventilators and supplied to the vehicle seat. Further, as shown in FIG. 3A, a partition wall 25 may be provided below the vehicle seat to separate the area where air is sucked and the area where the air transported under the seating surface is discharged from the opening 20 from each other to separate. This avoids that the fan means 8 and 9 suck in heated and moist air.
Dabei kann der Luftstrom über das Ventil individuell eingestellt werden.FIG. 3B shows a further embodiment of the vehicle seat according to the invention. Therein, a cheek area 2b and the body contact area 2a have a common blower device 23. The air sucked in by the device 23 is conveyed through the opening 19 into the spacer knit 6 and passed along the body contact area before it is discharged through the opening 20. In addition, the air sucked in by the blower device 23 is supplied to the regions without body contact via a valve 24. The air flow can be adjusted individually via the valve.
At least one of the two outer layers 12 has an air-permeable, flat hole pattern (not shown) through which the moisture formed on the seat cover passes and the one guided in the spacer 6 Air can come into direct contact with the back of the seat cover layer 4 or the intermediate layer 5 in contact. This the seat cover layer 4 facing layer 12 is preferably less structured and formed very fine mesh. Above all, it serves as a comfort layer. The two layers 12 are connected by pile threads 13 and kept at a distance, which meanders between the layers 12 and are alternately connected to one and the other outer layer 12. The layers 12, the structure of which may be different, serve as support fabric for fixing the pile threads 13.
The channel formed between the two outer layers 12 of the spacer knitted fabric 6 has a cross-sectional area of, for example, 30 cm 2 . In order to calculate the required speed of the first air stream 50 below the central area with body contact, an average body contact area of 0.28 m 2 is assumed and a maximum welding rate of 100 g / m 2 h is established. Multiplying these two values results in a seated sweat rate of 28 g / h. The humidity at the Kanalein¬ gang example, 35% and at the channel output, for example, 50%, the temperature is assumed to be constant. The moisture content of the air has between the inlet and outlet of the channel under these conditions, a sub- difference of about 3.0 g / m 3 . From the sweat rate and the moisture difference results in a required air flow in the channel of 9.3 m 3 / h, ie 2.6 l / s. This results in a required air flow velocity of 0.86 m / s in the channel. The calculated air flow rate is deliberately high due to conservative assumptions. In practice, even lower speeds are sufficient for most of the times, since such high rates of sweating are only achieved for a limited time. Furthermore, the seat cover buffers the moisture for a certain time, whereby the removal of moisture spread over a longer period.
