Definitions
- the present invention relates to the maintenance on the foot of a protection module of a zone of the foot.
- Foot protection modules also called "protection interfaces" are commonly used products. This is for example platelets of a few centimeters square silicone gel, for example a silicone gel composition marketed by the applicant under the name Epithelium 26 ® .
- the foot has a shock absorbing layer called the foot pad, which can support up to eight times the weight of the body.
- the plantar pad helps to distribute the mechanical "load” imposed by the weight of the body.
- many patients suffer from heating, callus or pain due to unavoidable wear, with age, natural plantar.
- protection modules can relieve pain and protect all painful areas of the foot affected by hyperpressions (calluses, corns, partridge eyes, hallux valgus) or suffering from skin injuries (irritation, cracks, plantar warts. ..).
- the maintenance of one or more protection modules on the foot is problematic. After placing a module on the foot at the desired location, the module must not move when placing the sock. However, this one being generally adhesive, it is pulled backwards, then rolls up on itself or is scratched with the passage of the sock. This problem is general and concerns all parts of the foot.
- the protection modules are generally equipped with holding means made of elastic fabric.
- holding means form inside the shoe a layer of material which is added to that formed by the sock and alter the comfort of the foot in the shoe.
- the invention solves this problem by providing a "special" sock intended for maintaining protection modules in all parts of the foot.
- the present invention provides an elastic sock for holding at least one foot zone protection module, comprising a tubular portion for covering the ankle, a front portion for covering the foot and the heel, and an opening in a region of the sock corresponding to the arch of the foot so that it can be threaded by first threading the tubular portion around the ankle and passing the foot into the opening, then threading the front part around the foot after arranging on the foot at least one protection module.
- the sock comprises a polyamide elastane material.
- the front part comprises a welding or sewing zone which passes the along a portion corresponding to the left or right edge of the foot.
- the tubular portion has a seam or seam area extending forward of the ankle.
- the sock comprises a protective module integral with the sock.
- the protection module is arranged in a material that is welded or stitched to the sock.
- the present invention also relates to a combination of a sock according to the invention and a protection module comprising a thin sheet of moisture absorbing material covering all or part of the foot and covered by the sock.
- the present invention also relates to a method for holding on the foot at least one foot zone protection module, comprising providing an elastic sock comprising a tubular portion for covering the ankle, a front portion for covering the ankle. foot and heel, and an opening in a region of the sock corresponding to the arch of the foot, the tubular portion being first threaded around the ankle by passing the foot in the opening, the front part then being threaded around of the foot after arranging on the foot at least one protection module.
- the method comprises the provision of a sock made of a polyamide elastane material.
- the sock comprises a protective module integral with the sock.
- the protection module is arranged in a material that is welded or stitched to the sock.
- the protection module comprises a thin sheet of moisture absorbing material covering all or part of the foot and covered by the sock.
- FIG. 1 schematically represents a sock according to the invention
- FIGS. 2, 3 and 4 illustrate an operation of threading the sock with the positioning of a protection module on a part of the foot
- FIG. 5 shows the sock threaded on the foot, ensuring the maintenance of the protection module.
- the invention consists of a sock 1 which conventionally comprises a tubular portion 2 for covering the ankle and a front portion 3 for covering the foot and the heel.
- the sock 1 has the distinction of having an opening 4 on the top of the front portion 3, in a region corresponding to the top of the foot called the voussure.
- the sock 1 is made of an elastic material, woven or non-woven, for example a polyamide elastane.
- the tubular portion 2 which covers the ankle may include a seam or seam line.
- the line 5 is preferably arranged in the axis of the top of the foot, or towards the front of the tube 2.
- the top of the front part 3 may be an insert by sewing or welding.
- front portion 3 may comprise a line 6 of welding or seaming, which delimits the insert.
- Line 6 is preferably arranged laterally, that is to say in the area that runs along the right edge and / or the left edge of the foot and extends about one-third of the front portion 3 of the sock.
- the opening 4 allows to put in place the front part 3 of the sock 1 by making a movement going from the back towards the front, instead of making a movement going from the front towards the back as it is the case with a classic sock.
- the opening 4 at the yoke makes it possible to thread only the tubular portion 2 of the sock around the ankle, passing the foot through the opening 4, before placing the front part 3 of the sock.
- One or more protection modules can then be arranged on all parts of the foot. These modules are generally slightly adhesive in nature (silicone gel modules) although not enough to prevent them from wrapping or tearing when donning a normal sock, as indicated above. They are likely to be subjected to "hyper-supports" or friction.
- FIGS. 2 to 5 The arrangement of the sock 1 and a protection module 10 is illustrated in FIGS. 2 to 5.
- the tubular part 2 is threaded up to the ankle (seam facing outwards) in passing the foot through the opening 4.
- the protection module 10 is then arranged on the foot at the desired location, here below the malleolus, and is easily held by adhesion.
- the front portion 3 is then pulled forward (arrow 11), by elasticity, thus covering the module 10, to exceed the tip of the foot. It is then folded on the foot (arrow 12) and is released, so that the tip of the sock is put in place at the end of the foot.
- the module 10 is then held by the sock 1, with a reasonable tightening of the ankle and a reasonable tension between the back of the foot and the tip.
- protection modules are not moved at the time of donning the sock and remain in place permanently, including during the exercise of sports activities.
- one or more modules wrapped in fabric are fixed directly in the sock and are an integral part thereof.
- the integral protection modules of the sock may be arranged in a woven material or not, which is welded or sewn to the sock. This embodiment allows for example to benefit from a standard plantar protection (sewn protection module) while allowing to maintain removable modules by means of the sock at any other point of the foot.
- the invention is particularly advantageous for practicing sports such as hiking, football, rugby, skateboarding, figure skating and some combat sports.
- Modules of protection in particular in Epithelium 26 ® , can be placed in various zones of the foot, heel, sole of the foot, malleolus, tendon, etc.
- the invention also makes it possible to maintain protection modules on parts of the foot which include hyperkeratoses to be resorbed (eg heels).
- the present invention is susceptible to various variations and embodiments, both as regards the shape of the opening 4, which may be adapted to various module shapes or to different morphologies of feet, only with regard to the materials used to make the sock.
- the present invention is also capable of various applications, and the nature and shape of the protective modules employed are not limited to the examples described.
- the protection module is a thin sheet of moisture absorbing material having a thickness of the order of 0.2 mm to 0.8 mm. mm, which covers all or part of the surface of the foot.
- Such thin absorbent sheet of material is for example made of microporous polyethylene loaded with silica, such as material commercially available under the Aeroshoes ®.
- the protection module sticks to the skin by the effect of pumping perspiration and slides against the fabric or the material of the sock.
- the movements of the foot in the shoe do not cause movement of the absorbent material relative to the skin, which eliminates any friction between the skin and the absorbent material.
