Abstract

The invention relates to a polyvalent urological tray (c) which is characterised in that it consists of an ergonomic sanitary container comprising the elements required in urology medical procedures. More specifically, the invention relates to a urological kit which has been designed for urethrovesical catheterisation treatments, bladder washouts and vaginal gynaecological examinations and which is made from plastic by means of injection, thermoforming or another system. The invention is prismatic in shape and comprises a base similar to that of a curvilinear isosceles triangle, but, instead of edges, having rounded corners in order to facilitate handling and to render the device smooth upon contact with the body of the patient. The container comprises two parts, namely: a lower body or belly (i) forming the actual tray, and an upper hermetic lid (s) for the lower container, which, once removed from the body, serves as an auxiliary tray. The base of the tray comprises a blunt-nosed tip (r) which terminates in a curvilinear ramp (e) having a tangent that forms 40 degrees with the base plane. In addition, the invention comprises several depressed areas to facilitate the handling thereof (p.d)(d.i)(ch)(fl)(f2), as well as notches (g.d)(h.c)(h.l) for housing probes during operations and preventing the movement of materials during transport. (Fig.1 D)

Description

POLIVALENT UROLOGUE BATEA

INTRODUCTION

Everything expressed, both literally and graphically, in the context of this Descriptive Report, refers to the application for a patent of invention, for a new external and single-use medical device, called: "Multipurpose Urological Pan" or, in short "BUP." In fact, it is an original and practical ergonomically configured sanitary utensil, composed mainly of two cuff-shaped trays, that is: with their corresponding widened bases and their vertices ending in blunt tip. Both trays have a certain similarity and are perfectly combined with each other by their respective upper faces and solidly set by their lateral faces, forming a single piece tightly closed to the outside and leaving with each other a large space or internal cavity called, "nurse" space. Now, despite their morphological resemblance, in medical practice, these two trays have different functions but, in turn, complementary to achieve their predetermined objectives like none other.

The upper tray of the configurator set of the multipurpose urological pan is called "lid" or "bucket" of the "BUP" and the lower tray constitutes the "body" or "belly" of the "BUP". On the other hand, the aforementioned and called "nurse" space, can be totally empty or, partially or completely occupied with all the necessary elements and neatly placed to practice a urethro-bladder catheterization or a thorough bladder lavage as it happens in patients with macroscopic hematuria and intravesical clot formation. And all this, practiced promptly safety and effectiveness, that is, with total quality. OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The main purpose of this invention is none other than to make available to all patients and / or possible users and, especially, doctors and primary care ATS and, of course, specialists in urology, gynecology and geriatrics destined in hospital centers, as well as in clinics, sanatoriums, operating rooms, outpatient and emergency services, of this new totally ergonomic sanitary utensil, of a single use, called Multipurpose Urological Batea. Obviously, this original tool has been preconceived and ergonomically structured to adapt easily and comfortably to the anatomical area to which it serves and is equipped "ad hoc" to perform urethral catheterizations and / or bladder washes, as well as intra-vesical instillations and other treatments or explorations trans-urethral or vulvo-vaginal.

The polyvalent urological pan forms a joint unit, sterilized and equipped to promptly, safely, effectively and comfortably solve the urgent and usually serious clinical situation experienced by patients with acute urinary retention due to prostateism, or those affected of macroscopic hematuria and formation of intra-bladder clots due to bladder, renal or prostate carcinoma or other causes, such as bladder or bladder-urethral trauma with perforation of the urinary bladder and / or rupture of the urethral duct, with severe bladder or urethral hemorrhage, extravasation of urine etc. etc. FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has its scope within the industry dedicated to the manufacture of external sanitary utensils or accessories of a single use and of great utility in hospitals, clinics, sanatoriums, clinical services, mobile units, health centers, outpatients, etc. ., not forgetting the war hospitals and the so-called emergency hospitals or surgical units generally prefabricated, assembled and put into operation quickly and, obviously, very necessary in the great cataclysms that, with some frequency plague our planet earth.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

All the doctors who work in the field of clinical urology are currently aware of and suffer from various problems arising from the "improper" use of the so-called urological bats, obviously outdated and, therefore, deficient, inadequate and even dangerous. And this is so, especially, when it comes to elderly patients with problems serious and / or situations of true clinical urgency. In this regard, the Polyvalent Urological Pan that the invention proposes, given its ergonomics and, in turn, as a carrier in the so-called "nurse" space of all the elements, necessary to perform a urethro-bladder catheterization or a wash with total quality thorough bladder, in cases of macroscopic hematuria with clots and, in addition, to be able to do it at any place and at any time of the day. All this constitutes, at present, a great qualitative technological advance in urological praxis and, therefore, an important improvement in the integral management of these patients. On the other hand, we are concerned to know that in most of the globe, we work in urology with inadequate and inadequate pans, when other more suitable solutions should be practiced for the following reasons: These trays are, in general, unstable, they tip over ease, and urine is spilled or splashed outside during bladder drainage by urethral catheterization, or during the manual removal maneuver and transport to the landfill. Moreover, the gloved fingers, obviously, of the doctor or the ATS get dirty and / or contaminate with infected urine as well as the sheets, clothes, walls and floors of the rooms or rooms of the patients due mainly to the use of these unfortunately outdated pans , causing the infuriating hospital nosocomial infections complicating, even more, the problem to be avoided.

In addition to the above, we are surprised and concerned that medical professionals do not currently have the most technologically advanced sanitary utensils to properly perform urethro-bladder catheterization and / or bladder lavage operations that are more in line with current needs . The advances in science and technologies related to health and, of course, the increasing professional responsibility and the fundamental rights of the patient make these measures taken seriously.

From the point of view of the time lost in the search and collection of all the necessary elements to practice catheterization or bladder lavage and, also, from the comfort and convenience of the user or patient, as well As of the actor (doctor) it is essential that the urological bat has a completely ergonomic configuration, without sharp angles, or sharp edges that can injure the patient or the healthcare staff. In addition, these trays must have a broad support base, to ensure good stability and tightness of the collected urine, as well as other elements or additional improvements that facilitate its manageability and prevent urine splashes, especially during the transport of the same. from the patient's bed to the landfill.

To all these inconveniences it should be added that, in addition to encountering poorly designed and even outdated urological trays, the doctor has to overcome the problem of additional accessories such as urethrovesical syringe probes, urological lubricant, urine bag, whose characteristics and / or Dimensions are not always the most appropriate for each case.

Having said the foregoing, the present invention called Polyvalent Urological Batea aims to overcome all the deficiencies and inconveniences of urological trays, still existing in the health market. In fact, this double Urological Batea is ergonomically designed and is presented together in a single urological equipment carrier carrier in turn, of all the remaining elements necessary to be able to practice catheterization and / or bladder lavage, with total quality, because it presents following advantages: stability, tightness, untouchability, safety, comfort and easy handling.

Due to its special configuration, the urine collected in the "belly" of the Multipurpose Urological Pan is very difficult for it to splash or escape through the pavilion of the Foley catheter placed through the central slit of the visor, located around the curvature anterior of the fenestra, forcing the urine to fall into the "belly" of the multipurpose pan. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The polyvalent urological bat is characterized by being two containers tightly crimped together. Both have a cuff shape with a blunt tip and are preferably manufactured by injection or thermoforming based on a very light plastic material. The "BUP" has a prismatic shape with the blunt tip and the base similar to that of a curvilinear isosceles triangle. On the entire exterior surface there are no sharp edges or sharp points. All its angles are blunt and the smooth outer surface and its rounded contours to achieve the desired smoothness in its handling and comfort in its application in medical practice, within its main features, which are ergonomics, simplicity, safety, effectiveness and efficiency.

It is therefore a double bowl shaped like a cuff, hermetically encased by its lateral faces and, therefore, consists of two fundamental parts:

1.- A lower part that constitutes the so-called "body" or "belly" of the Polyvalent Urological Pan.

2, - Another superior that configures the "lid" of the "body" or "belly" of the Polyvalent Urological Pan, which also serves as a container or bucket for the irrigation liquid.

These two trays, when perfectly coupled with each other, thanks to a hermetic closing system, manage to isolate an interior space from the outside.

"ad hoc" called "nurse" space for its functions of housing all the necessary accessories for a urethro-bladder catheterization with or without bladder washes. The upper tray or "lid" also acts as an auxiliary container as an instrument holder and also as a "bucket" to collect the liquid used in bladder irrigation (usually sterile water).

The lower tray that configures the so-called "body" or "belly" of the Polyvalent Urological Pan, is shaped like a cuffia and is the piece that must come into contact with the inner part of the patient's thighs and its vertex with the external genitals and, in part with the anterior perineum, characterized by its perfect adaptability to the anatomical area to which it provides its health services and also, by the smoothness of its forms, for having in its lateral walls vertically short wave wavy areas that favor the immobility of the trapped pan between both thighs of the patient during the intervention. It is also characterized by having at the base of the prism and, specifically, in the area of the keel or apex of the cufia, a curvilinear ramp profile whose tangent forms an angle of about 40 degrees with the plane of the base of the bat . To facilitate safe handling, preventing the doctor's fingers from slipping during placement and transport manipulations, it has two unequal depressed areas, the largest located at the bottom or heel of the bat and the other, rather smaller, located in the center of the upper face that serves to place only the fingertip of the medical actor or ATS.

On the upper face of the "body" or "belly" of the multipurpose pan and in a substantially centered position, there is a large rhombus-shaped opening whose minor diagonal is parallel to the base of the isosceles triangle. Being the vertices of said minor diagonal, just on the side edges of the bat, they constitute the ideal position to proceed through these points to the pouring of the liquid, contained in the body of the bat, after the intervention.

In the vertices of the major diagonal of the rhombus are the special details that characterize this invention:

At the vertex closest to the keel and at the beginning of the supero-anterior side of the bat, said surface appears slightly raised, as a visor, where three circular holes are torn up, and located most of them in the center of the visor and the other two in its vicinity and in symmetrical position.

In the upper face of the "belly" or "body" of the polyvalent urological pan and in its later part there is a slight circular depression used to place the fingertip of the thumb, as has been said previously. In addition, between this superficial hole and the rear flange of the large central window there is a semicircular depression, greater and deeper, with a special shape, which, seen in plan, recalls the "profile of a Cordovan hat". This depression, located in the center of the posterior-superior wall of the body of the urological pan, and the already described torn circular hole placed in the central area of the front visor, they serve to accommodate in the latter the tip of the 60 ml irrigation syringe, while the plunger of said syringe fits in the area reminiscent of the silhouette of a Cordoba hat.

To finish with the description of the Multipurpose Urological Pan, we will say that the three circular holes torn and placed on the visor that surrounds the anterior flange of the large central window, once the irrigation syringe is removed from its housing, serve to pass and adjust the Stem of the Foley catheter near its pavilion and the two lateral holes to introduce in each of them one or two additional pathways that can be called Foley's self-retentive probes; in this way the Foley catheter will drain perfectly inside the body of the pan and it is practically impossible for it to detach and splash urine out of said container.

With regard to the "lid" of the Multipurpose Urological Pan that, as stated above, ensures the hermetic seal of the latter, we will point out that it is designed as a "nurse" to house, among other accessories, a Foley probe of 1 or 2 routes, an empty syringe of 10 ml., an instrument that serves as a clamp / scissor and a plastic cone to temporarily obstruct the flow of urine through the Foley catheter, if necessary. The lid, in its function of auxiliary tray or bucket, will serve to hold the irrigation syringe properly and stably and to contain the bladder irrigation fluid (usually sterile water).

Both the Foley catheter, as well as the two syringes mentioned above, the clamp / scissors and the plastic cap are encased, for immobilization during transport, in an "ad hoc" lap located along the inner perimeter of the Cap, just in the angle where the side faces of the bucket converge with the underlying floor of the bucket. DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Multipurpose Urological Bat (c) (Fig. 1) characterized by being a wedge-shaped sanitary vessel that, in addition to being ergonomically designed, contains all the necessary elements to solve certain problems doctors, to be executed by specialists in urology, both in merely routine operations and in others that must be performed urgently.

It is a specially designed urological kit, composed and indicated for urethro-bladder catheterization treatments, bladder washes and gynecological examinations or treatments vaginally.

The Polyvalent Urological Pan (c) (Fig. 1), object of the present invention, is characterized, as already described, for being an "ad hoc" double vessel made of a lightweight plastic product, preferably by the process of injection or thermoforming. Its shape (Fig. 1) is prismatic with a base that approximates that of a curvilinear isosceles triangle, without edges and with rounded angles for the purpose of handling comfort and smoothness in contacts with the patient's body.

It is a double completely sealed container consisting of two parts: the lower (i) (Fig. 1) "body" or "belly" that is the bat itself and the upper (s) (Fig. 1) that is the lid Airtight of the lower container with the particularity that, once detached from the pan, it functions as an auxiliary sanitary tray.

The lower part (i) (Fig. 1), which, as indicated above, is wedge-shaped, is the piece that must come into contact with the inner faces of both thighs of the patient characterized, in addition to the smoothness of their shapes , for having in the lateral channels (el) (Fig. 2) and its proximities, short wave wavy areas (not shown) as rounded micro-granulations, which favor the adhesion of the bat to the skin that covers the thighs, thus facilitating the immobility of the bat during the intervention. The base of the prism, in the area of the keel or wedge finished with a blunt tip (r) (Fig. 1), is made up of a profile (e) (Fig. 1) in a curvilinear ramp whose tangent at the tip narrow of the bat forms about 40 degrees with the base plane.

To facilitate safe handling, preventing the doctor's fingers from slipping during the various manipulations and final transport from the patient's bed to the landfill, it has a double wavy depression (di) (Fig. 2) located in the floor or base of the bat, near the heel, and another, smaller, (pd) (Fig. 2) located on the upper face behind the great depression (gd) (Fig. 2) that simulates the profile of a Cordoba hat. Note also that for a better adaptation of the doctor's hand to the bat, it is projected with a chamfered or chamfered area (ch) (Fig. 2) on the heel.

The lower part "body" or "belly" of the polyvalent urological bat, in turn consists of two distinct pieces: the base itself (i) (Fig. 2) and the one we will call window cover (tv) (Fig. 2) because it has a large rhombus-shaped opening (gv) (Fig. 2) whose smaller diagonal is substantially parallel to the base of the isosceles triangle. Both pieces are precisely coupled to provide a firm and tight seal at their level. See detail in (Fig. 2) (2B).

To separate them more easily, two tracks or foveas (fl) (£ 2) are planned

(Fig. 2). on which you must press lightly at the time of opening.

The ends of the smaller diagonal of the large window (g.v) coincide with the lateral channels (el) (Fig. 2) and constitute the ideal places to proceed through these points to the pouring of the liquid contained in the pan after an intervention.

The imaginary vertex of the major diagonal of the rhombus or large window (gv) located on the side of the keel, is slightly raised, as a visor (v), and there are three torn grooves, one of them (hc) (Fig. 2) in the same vertex and the other two (hl) (Fig. 2) in its vicinity and in symmetrical position.

The Foley catheter will pass through the central groove (hc) and the remaining two tracks (balloon insufflation and washing) of the Foley probe canopy will pass through the other two grooves (hl), leaving said pavilion perfectly positioned and adjusted, being very difficult for The urine drained through the tube is out of the way. Actually the Foley pavilion is very tight draining the urine directly to the "belly" of the BUP. In addition, the pavilion is suspended in the air, preventing it from getting wet with drained urine, and, consequently, hindering bladder infections. On the other imaginary vertex of the large window (gv), next to the widest part of the bat, is a large semicircular depression (gd), in a special way, which is seen on the floor reminiscent of the profile of a Cordoba hat. This large depression (gd) is designed to encapsulate the plunger and proximal area of the irrigation syringe Qdv) (Fig. 1) and in the central torn groove (hc) described above, the tip or tip of the same syringe is encased.

The upper tray (s) (Fig. 3) or tape of the Multipurpose Urological Pouch tries to seal the latter by adjusting with all precision (See detail) (Fig. 1) (IB) in the closing strip between the edges (p) (Fig. 1) and is characterized by also making the function of auxiliary tray during the intervention to contain the bladder irrigation fluid.

The Polyvalent Urological Pan, according to this preferred embodiment, with all the details that have been described above, is also characterized by other complements that equip it according to the type of intervention to which it is intended as indicated below: a) bladder urethral catheterizations:
