Abstract

The invention relates to a use of calcium phosphate or a combination of calcium phosphates for producing a food supplement. The aim of the invention is to create an alternative food supplement that can be produced at a low cost and does away with the drawbacks known in prior art. Said aim is achieved by a food supplement for lowering cholesterol and/or for preventing coronary heart diseases and/or cancer, especially colon cancer, and/or binding bile acids and the secretion thereof. The inventive food supplement is characterized in that the same contains calcium phosphate, in a particularly advantageous manner in the form of pentacalcium hydroxyphosphate Ca5(PO4)3OH.
