Abstract
ANATOMIC PILLOW composed of both a central depression (01), which makes the head to be positioned and supported by the pillow all the time, and a front entry for the shoulders positioning (02), which act in a preventative way or in a cervical spine alignment corrective way, besides facilitating the blood circulation.
Description
ANATOMIC PILLOW
The current patent utility model request regards to an anatomic pillow developed to comply with both preventive and cervical spine alignment rehabilitation functions. The one who cares about his/her spine wants to know if the mattress of his/her dreams is an innerspring or a foam one, how many layers of blanket are needed to protect the musculature and what the best bed rail is to absorb impacts. However, just a few are so demanding this way with the pillow, an accessory which deserves an equally solid choice; after all, nothing is more annoying than a deformed, musty, very thin or very thick support. A great variety of pillows may be found on the market, and their difference is all about the manufacture material. For the aromatherapy fans, filling them with herbs is an irresistible attractiveness. There are some pillows filled with rosemary (to minimize the headache), camomile (to still), eucalyptus (against respiratory problems), macela (to combat insomnia), melissa, lavender and multherbs, and so forth. There are also pillows manufactured with plumes and feathers, siliconized polyester fiber, innersprings with foam, latex and viscoelastic foam. The latter is manufactured with technology signed by NASA, whose foam is superflexible and adapts to the different head movements; it gradually cedes to the weight and, with no pressure, soon retakes back to the original position.
The ANATOMIC PILLOW was developed to be a 3-in-1 support system truly anatomic and transitional to the user's head, neck and shoulders, and indirectly to the cervical spine alignment, too. It promotes support whilst the user is lain as in the supine position (lying on the back) as sideways and, very important, during the transition between both positions, facilitating his/her position changing movement.
The ANATOMIC PILLOW has a support system created by a physiotherapist. It's been developed to act in a preventative way or in a cervical spine alignment corrective way, besides facilitating the blood circulation. A wrong posture during the nightly rest may result in serious health problems, and this pillow's goal is to correct and prevent these posture mistakes during the sleep. This pillow project has taken into account that people who lay sideways need a
higher and denser (thicker) pillow when compared to those people who lay in a supine position whose pillow must be less dense (thinner). When the person lays sideways the pillow's height must equal to the distance between the his/her ear and the end of his/her shoulder, and when the person lays in a supine position the pillow's height must equal the distance between his/her head and his/her cervical spine. These distances are very different, and the ANATOMIC PILLOW has considered them.
The ANATOMIC PILLOW is a combination of two high levels located on the sides thereof, which also count on shoulder blockers on the inferior part and it's made of a relatively dense material, which may be either polyurethane or dense latex, and a lower level with less density of the same material on center, with an angular edge similar to a nest, which makes the head to be positioned and supported by the pillow all the time avoiding the head or the shoulders to get across the border or move forward or sideward, providing a great rest with a perfect cervical spine alignment, without projecting and thus decreasing pressure of the shoulder that is in contact with the mattress, in a harmful or painful way.
The attached drawings show the ANATOMIC PILLOW, goal of the current patent request, on which:
The figure 01 shows a perspective sight of the ANATOMIC PILLOW.
The figure 02 shows a plant of the ANATOMIC PILLOW.
The figure 03 shows a lateral sight of the ANATOMIC PILLOW.
The figure 04 shows a front sight of the ANATOMIC PILLOW.
As it is observed in the figures 01 , 02, 03 and 04, the ANATOMIC PILLOW is composed of a central depression (01) and a front entry for the shoulders positioning (02).
