Abstract

A container is provided having a flexible inner pouch (24) and a rigid outer support (10). The container's rigid support member (10) provides support for the flexible pouch (24). The rigid support (10) facilitates the safe opening and handling of the container and its contents (such as liquid and flowable solid pesticides) by an end user.

Claims

AMENDED CLAIMS received by the International Bureau on 16 March 2007 (16.03.2007)
1. An apparatus for assisting in the handling of flexible containers that hold a toxic material, said apparatus comprising: a rigid support; and a flexible container connected to the rigid support.
2. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the rigid support is constructed of a paper product.
3. The apparatus of either claim 1 or claim 2 wherein the rigid support is constructed ofpaperboard.
4. The apparatus of any one of claims claim 1 to 2 wherein the rigid support is constructed of cardboard,
5. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the rigid support is constructed of plastic,
6. The apparatus of any one of claims 1 to 5 wherein the rigid support has a tear strip.
7. The apparatus of any one of claims I to 6 wherein the rigid support has a gusseted bottom.
8. The apparatus of either claim 6 or 7 wherein the rigid support is constructed of cardboard.
9. The apparatus of either claim 6 or 7 wherein the rigid support is constructed of plastic.
10. A method of using the apparatus of any one of claims 1 to 9 comprising; opening a flexible container that is connected to a rigid support; and squeezing said rigid support, whereby opposing sides of said rigid support and said flexible container spread apart.
11. A packaging assembly suitable for storing and transporting toxic materials comprising: a rigid support; and a flexible container holding a toxic material connected to the rigid support,
12. The packaging assembly of claim 11 wherein the rigid support is constructed of a paper product,
13. The packaging assembly of either claim 11 or claim 12 wherein the rigid support is constructed of paperboard.
14. The packaging assembly of any one of claims 11 to 12 wherein the rigid support is constructed of cardboard.
15. The packaging assembly of claim 11 wherein the rigid support is constructed of plastic.
16. The packaging assimbly of any one of claims 11 to 15 wherein the rigid support has a tear strip.
17. The packaging assembly of any one of claims 11 to 16 wherein the rigid support has a gusseted bottom.
18. The packaging assembly of either claim 16 or 17 wherein the rigid support is constructed of a paper product,
19. The packaging assembly of either claim 16 or 17 wherein the rigid support is constructed of paperboard.
20. The packaging assembly of either claim 16 or 17 wherein the rigid support is constructed of cardboard.
21. The packaging assembly of either claim 16 or 17 wherein the rigid support is constructed of plastic.
22. The packaging assembly of any one of claims 11 to 21 wherein the toxic material is a pesticidal composition.
23, The packaging assembly of any one of claims 1 Ho 21 wherein the toxic material is an agrochemical composition.
24» The packaging assembly of claim 22 wherein the pesticide is an insecticide,
25. A method of using the packaging assembly of any one of claims 11 to 24 comprising; opening a flexible container that is connected to a rigid support; and squeezing said rigid support, whereby opposing sides of said rigid support and said flexible container spread apart.
26. The apparatus of any one of claims 1 to 9 wherein the toxic material is a pesticidal composition.
21. The apparatus of any one of claims 1 to 9 wherein the toxic material is an agrochemical composition.
29, The apparatus of any one of claims 1 to 9 wherein the toxic material is an insecticide.
