Abstract

A computer-implemented method of creating a multimedia book that includes a playable digital medium. The method involves building a table of contents, generating an index, and storing the table of contents, the index, and the pages of the multimedia book on a server having access to the Internet. The invention also features linking multimedia books to form a searchable library. Another aspect of the invention enables customers of online electronic stores to view and purchase access to multimedia books, and to add their purchases to their multimedia book libraries.
