Abstract

Agent for the modification and identification of components and compositions occurring in the basic states of aggregation : solid, liquid and gaseous, and its application. The agent contains stilbene derivatives, optionally carbonic acid diamide, copper in the metallic form or its compounds, ions of rare earths metals, as well as dihydroxyl alcohols, ion and/or non-ion surface active agents and higher monohydroxyl and trihydroxyl alcohols. The agent is applied as a marker which enables, through non-destructive methods, identification of structural defects such as lack of continuity of material, control of the composition and structure of liquid, solid and gaseous fuels and the monitoring of materials with various coefficients of linear and cubical expansion as function of time and temperature after the treatment of ultraviolet radiation rays. This agent is also applied to modify fire-extinguising agents, especially foam-creating ones, and production artificial snow and artificial ice.

Description

Title: AGENT FOR MODIFICATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF COMPONENTS AND
COMPOSITIONS7COMPRISING AT LEAST A STILBENE DERIVATE, A SURFACE ACTIVE AGENT AND MONO- AND TRIHYDROXYLIC ALCOHOLS
The present invention relates to an agent for the modification and identification of components and compositions occurring in the basic states of aggregation: solid, liquid and gaseous, and its application. Such agents are used to homogenize mixtures, determine selected components of mixtures, neutralize energy centers, set 5 axial (directional) orientations of the components which determine the technological parameters, and to limit the degrees of anisotropy and generate energy fluxes. Used in a variety of compositions, the agents have wide applications in construction, economy, transport and in producing and composing liquid, solid and gaseous fuels.
The basic components of agents of this type are stilbene compounds and in 10 particular its derivatives, especially in the form of 4,4'-bis(s-triazynylo-)diamino-2,2'- disulfostilbene derivatives whose method of obtaining is described in polish patent application P. 313640.
Known from polish patent application P. 378142 is the use of stilbene derivatives which are grafted with carbonic acid diamide and which are used for the purpose of 15 preparation of various materials thus protecting them against the effects of ultraviolet radiation and ozone.
Polish patent application P. 328843 describes a method of marking paper, plastic masses and inorganic glass which consists in adding, during manufacture, to all material or in some spots only, substances containing a marker being a luminophore
20 in which the matrix is made of fluorides, preferably LaF3 or KYF4 with admixtures of ions of rare earths metals, preferably Yb, Er, Ho or Tm, which demonstrating Stokes and anti-Stokes emissions at the same time. Such substances can be added as components directly to paper, plastic or glass or in some of their places in the form of other materials saturated with luminophores - strips of paper (confetti), cloth,
25 plastic, glass, etc.
Another polish patent application P. 355048 disclosures dying agents to dye and mark petrochemicals, in particular mineral oils, and the method of obtaining such agents. The agents described therein are in the form of a liquid which is a solution of dyes in an organic solvent mixing with petrochemicals, in xylene, toluene or light fuel oil or in a mixture thereof.
Known from polish patent description 175152 is the use of compounds from the group of phthalocyanines, naphthalocyanines, complexes of nickel with dithiolenes, amine compounds which are derivatives of aromatic amines, methine dyes or dyes of azulene acid, which demonstrate maximum absorption in the range between 600. and 1200 nm and/or maximum fluorescence in the range between 620 and 1200 nm as markers for liquids.
Known from the above description is also a method of detecting markers in liquids, as well as a detector appropriate for this purpose.
European patent PCT/EP97/03880 provides information on a method of modifying liquid hydrocarbon fuel, which consists in adding an identifiable marker to fuel, a detectable quantity of at least one hydrocarbon C7-20 containing at least one non- aromatic carbocyclic ring with at least 7 atoms of carbon in the ring.
A certain inconvenience in stilbene derivatives in various applications is their non- solubility in organic solvents and compounds, with only partial solubility of some of these derivatives in water.
The aim of the invention was to provide an agent offering the possibility of marking selected components, or preparations, to determine stoichiometric and distributional regularity, unfavorable grouping of components determining the assumed properties and establishing the origins of components or preparations which occur in the basic states of aggregation.
The nature of the invention is therefore an agent for modification and identification of components and compositions occurring in the basic states of aggregation, containing stilbene derivatives in the solid and/or liquid state, and, optionally, carbonic acid diamide, copper in the metallic form or its compounds, particularly after micronisation, ions of rare earths metals demonstrating Stokes and anti-Stokes emissions at the same time which, according to the invention, contains also dihydroxyl alcohols of 0.1-28.5 parts by weight, ion and/or non-ion surface active agents of 0.1-73.5 parts by weight and higher monohydroxyl and trihydroxyl alcohols of 0.2-55.5 parts by weight.
Preferably, the surface-active agent according to the invention is a mixture of polioxyethylene ether of isobuthyl alcohol and/or sodium of sulfonated alpha olefins C14-16 and/or sodium of sulfated ethoxylated (3) alcohol Ci2-C-ι5 and n-Butanol.
Preferably, according to the invention, higher alcohols are glycols and/or glycerin and/or alcohols containing carbon above C2.
The presence of selected surface active agents in the agent according to the invention reduces the surface tension in the mixtures, particularly by using ion or non-ion systems, helps dispergation of stilbene derivatives in the liquid and gaseous phases while in the solid phase of a material prepared by the agent according to the invention, the presence of such agents results in increased adhesion in the intergranular zone thus reducing the cohesion of mixtures.
It was unexpectedly found, that the presence of selected surface active agents and appropriate alcohols in the agent according to the invention results in the formation of solutions and suspensions of stilbene derivatives, stable both in a broad range of concentrations (to 50%) and after bringing to liquid states (hydrocarbons, water, etc.).
In contact with materials such as expanded polystyrene or polyurethanes, the agent according to the invention causes the formation of a new type of surface, particularly after the cutting (formatting) expanded polystyrene, polyurethane, etc., because of the intended destruction of cells and static neutralization proving to be, unexpectedly, optically matt (lack of reflection of light rays) and a reduction in formation of a frictional electrostatic charges and reduction in the porosity of foamed materials, especially expanded polystyrene.
The nature of the invention is also the use of the agent for the modification and identification of components and compositions occurring in the basic states of aggregation as a marker which enables in particular, through non-destructive methods, identification of structural defects such as lack of continuity of material, - A - control of the composition and structure of liquid, solid and gaseous fuels and the monitoring of materials with various coefficients of linear and cubical expansion as function of time and temperature after the treatment of ultraviolet radiation rays.
The agent according to the invention can be also applied to modify fire-extinguishing agents, especially foam-creating ones, and production artificial snow and artificial ice.
Non-destructive methods, according to the invention, consist in using devices which generates ultraviolet and/or infrared rays or using laser with wave length of 0.94 to 1 ,05 μm, thus enabling the monitoring or illuminating materials in operation, which demonstrates stilbene derivatives contained in the agent according to the invention, and their sorption penetration into components of mixtures, alloys or polymers.
