Description

KOMBINATIONSSTAUBSAUGER MIT BATTERIENLADEGERAT COMBINATION VACUUM CLEANER WITH BATTERY CHARGER
The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner, in particular a vacuum cleaner with an integrated, removable hand vacuum cleaner.
Die Saugöffnung kann beispielsweise Teil einer Bürsteneinheit sein, die direkt über eineUnderground vacuum cleaners are known as household cleaning appliances for many decades in a variety of embodiments. Typically, the cylinder vacuum cleaners comprise a main body comprising a suction fan and motor suction means, a suction means power supply means, a dust collecting container and suitable filters. The suction device of the main housing is connected to a suction opening, through which dust and other contaminants, such as hair or food residues can be absorbed. The suction opening can be connected in various ways with the main housing. The suction opening may be part of a brush unit, for example, directly over a
The suction opening can also be connected via connecting pipes, for example telescopic pipes, or via a flexible connecting hose to the main housing. The vacuum cleaner sucks in the dust or dirt through this suction port with the help of a motor-driven blower installed in the main body together with the intake air. The sucked air and the dirt so get into the arranged in the main housing dust collector. According to a variant, the dirt is there in a filter container, which is impermeable to dust or dirt, but permeable with the air sucked, collected while the sucked air after passing the filter bag from the
There are also vacuum cleaners are known in which instead of a dust bag, a centrifugal Staubabscheidereinrichtung is provided in which the sucked, dust and dirt particles containing air stream is subjected to a cyclone-like movement in which the heavier dust or dirt particles due to the on them acting centrifugal force at the
Collect the housing wall, while the largely purified air in the center of the separator can be deducted. Underground vacuum cleaners usually have, depending on their construction, either on the main body or on the Brush unit Rolls on which they can be moved over the surface to be cleaned.
For smaller cleaning such vacuum cleaner are often too bulky and unwieldy. Therefore, for many years, so-called hand vacuum cleaners are commercially available in which the suction device and the dust container are dimensioned so that they can be conveniently held and used in terms of weight and dimensions with one hand. Such hand vacuum cleaners are particularly suitable for minor cleaning work, such as removing breadcrumbs on the dining table or cleaning upholstered furniture.
Der Handstaubsauger ist durch eine geeigneteFrom the US patent US-A-4,467,493 a canister vacuum cleaner is known, in the main housing a recess for receiving a handheld vacuum cleaner is recessed. The hand vacuum cleaner is by a suitable
Locking device fixed in the recess, so that the hand-held vacuum cleaner during operation of the vacuum cleaner can not fall out. If the user wants to use the hand vacuum cleaner, he can release the locking mechanism and remove the hand vacuum cleaner from the recess. The hand vacuum cleaner of the known device has a suction device separate from the suction device of the vacuum cleaner, which likewise comprises a motor-driven fan. To drive the fan motor, the motor of the hand vacuum cleaner of US-A-4,467,493 in the hand vacuum cleaner integrated, replaceable disposable batteries. A disadvantage of the known device is that such a suction device in the hand vacuum cleaner, at least when a satisfactory suction power is to be achieved, has a relatively high energy consumption, so that the batteries of the hand vacuum cleaner are discharged relatively quickly. The user is therefore often faced with the problem that he must determine when using the handheld vacuum cleaner, that the state of charge of the batteries no longer satisfactory suction results, so that initially a battery change is required. An increase in the number of batteries in the hand vacuum cleaner is not a suitable solution to this problem, since the hand vacuum cleaner is then heavy and unwieldy. From US 6,122,796 a vacuum cleaner according to the preamble of claim 1 is known. According to an embodiment described there in column 5, lines 60-67, the hand vacuum cleaner may comprise a rechargeable battery to be charged via a charging unit provided in the bottom suction device.
The present invention is based on the technical problem to provide a vacuum cleaner of the type described above, which on the one hand comprises a vacuum cleaner and on the other hand connected to the vacuum cleaner hand vacuum cleaner, which ensures that the hand vacuum always has an optimal state of charge and therefore in case of need Immediately ready for use without complex battery replacement.
This technical problem is solved by the vacuum cleaner with the features of the present claim 1. Advantageous developments of the vacuum cleaner according to the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
If in the present application of a vacuum cleaner, so it may, for example, a known vertical vacuum cleaner with a commonly integrated into the main housing suction head or a horizontal vacuum cleaner with a usually connected via a flexible hose to the main housing suction head ,
The subject of the present application is therefore a vacuum cleaner which on the one hand has a vacuum cleaner on the floor and, on the other hand, a hand vacuum cleaner which can be detachably fastened to the vacuum cleaner of the floor. The canister vacuum cleaner has a main housing and a first suction device arranged in the main housing, which is supplied with electrical energy via a first power supply device. The hand vacuum cleaner has a housing and a second suction device arranged in the housing, which is supplied with electrical energy via a second power supply device. According to the invention, the second power supply device of the Handheld vacuum cleaner at least one rechargeable battery that can be charged via provided in the first power supply device of the vacuum cleaner floor charge means. According to the invention it is now proposed that the charging means for the battery of the hand-held vacuum cleaner be powered independently of the position of the switch for the vacuum cleaner. This ensures that the handheld vacuum cleaner is charged even when the vacuum cleaner is not in operation, provided that the vacuum cleaner is connected to the mains. This ensures that the hand vacuum cleaner is always in an optimal state of charge regardless of any use of the vacuum cleaner.
For example, the charging means for the hand-held vacuum cleaner in the vacuum cleaner can be electrically connected in parallel to the suction device and the switch for the suction device. The power supply of the charging means therefore effectively bypasses the skin switch of the vacuum cleaner.
The control of the charging of the battery of the hand vacuum cleaner can be done on the hand vacuum cleaner itself. For this purpose, for example, a slide switch may be provided which is displaceable between an OFF position, a LOAD position and an operating position in which the suction device of the hand vacuum cleaner works. The handheld vacuum cleaner may also include an automatic charge control that stops charging when the rechargeable batteries are fully charged.
Preferably, the means for charging the batteries comprise a battery charger.
In diesem Fall sind die Ladeklemmen desAccording to a preferred embodiment of the vacuum cleaner according to the invention, the battery charger has electrical charging terminals that can make a detachable contact with complementary, provided on the vacuum cleaner loader terminals when the hand vacuum cleaner is attached to the vacuum cleaner. Particularly preferably, the main housing of the canister vacuum cleaner has a recess in which the hand vacuum cleaner can be releasably secured. The recess may for example have a substantially concave shape, which is adapted to a substantially convex shape of the housing of the hand vacuum cleaner. In this case, the charging terminals of the
Hand vacuum cleaner preferably arranged on the underside of the housing, while the charging terminals of the charger are arranged at the bottom of the recess.
To indicate an ongoing charging process, at least one warning light can be arranged in the lines leading from the charging terminals to the rechargeable batteries.
Preferably, the charger includes a microcontroller for monitoring and controlling the charging process, so that the charging current can be canceled, for example, after complete .Aufladung the batteries.
The vacuum cleaner according to the invention comprises means for attaching the hand vacuum cleaner to the vacuum cleaner, the fastening means may be formed for example by a locking device whose complementary components are arranged on the housing of the hand vacuum cleaner and the main housing of the vacuum cleaner.
Additionally or alternatively, the fastening means may comprise a provided on the vacuum cleaner floor tab, in which, for example, the tip of the hand vacuum cleaner can intervene.
In der Zeichnung zeigt:The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to a preferred embodiment shown in the accompanying drawing. In the drawing shows:

Bodenstaubsaugers und des Handstaubsaugers der Figuren 1 und 2.Underground vacuum cleaner and the hand vacuum cleaner of Figures 1 and 2.
In der in Figur 1 dargestellten Position ist derIn FIGS. 1 and 2, a preferred embodiment of the vacuum cleaner according to the invention is designated overall by the reference numeral 10. The vacuum cleaner 10 comprises, on the one hand, a vacuum cleaner 11 and, on the other hand, a hand vacuum cleaner 12 which is detachably connected to the vacuum cleaner 11 in the position shown in FIG
Hand vacuum cleaner connected to the vacuum cleaner, while it is detached in the position shown in Figure 2 from the vacuum cleaner and ready for use.
The canister vacuum cleaner 11 has a main housing 13, on which side rollers 14 are mounted, which allow easy transport of the vacuum cleaner 10. In the main housing 13 are (not visible in the figure), a first suction device with a motor-driven blower and an associated power supply device, and a dust collector and suitable filter means arranged. The power supply device comprises a (not shown) power supply, which can be connected via a power cord 15 and a plug 16 to a power grid, for example, to a conventional 220V or 110V AC mains. From the suction device of the vacuum cleaner 11, a connecting hose 17 leads to a suction opening, not shown, of the vacuum cleaner. In addition, the main housing 13 of the canister vacuum cleaner 11 has a recess 18, in which the hand vacuum cleaner 12 can be used detachably.
The hand vacuum cleaner 12 can be seen in particular in the illustration of Figure 2, where it is shown in a detached from the vacuum cleaner 11, ready position. Accordingly, the hand vacuum cleaner 12 has a housing 19, which comprises a device part 20 and a detachable dust collecting part 21. In the device part 20, the suction device of the hand vacuum cleaner 12 with a motor-driven blower and the power supply of the Hand vacuum cleaner housed. At the top of the housing part 20, a suction opening 22 is provided for dust and dirt. The housing 19 of the hand vacuum cleaner 12 is extended by a handle 23 to the rear.
As can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 2, the shape of the recess 18 is adapted to the shape of the hand vacuum cleaner 12. The recess 18 is closed at one end by a tab 24, in which the tip can be used with the suction port 22 of the hand vacuum cleaner 12. If the hand vacuum cleaner 12 is inserted with a slight press fit in the tab 24, if necessary, no further fastening means are required to ensure the safe, but if necessary releasable hold of the hand vacuum cleaner 12 on the main housing 13 of the vacuum cleaner 11. Preferably, however, additionally or alternatively, further suitable releasable locking means are provided, as described, for example, in US Pat. No. 4,467,493.
According to the invention, the hand vacuum cleaner 12 can be charged via a battery charger of the vacuum cleaner 11 with electrical energy. The principle of electrical coupling of hand vacuum cleaner 12 and vacuum cleaner 11 in the position shown in Figure 1, ie with inserted into the recess 18 hand vacuum cleaner is explained below in particular with reference to the electrical schematic diagram of Figure 3.
In der den Bodenstaubsauger 11 symbolisierenden Einheit sind der Netzstecker 16 und das Netzkabel 15 angedeutet, welche die insgesamt mit der Bezugsziffer 25 bezeichnete Stromversorgungseinrichtung des Hauptgehäuses 13 desIn the vacuum cleaner 11 symbolizing unit of the power plug 16 and the power cord 15 are indicated, which is generally designated by the reference numeral 25 power supply device of the main housing 13 of the
Canister 11 via an input power supply 26, which optionally includes a transformer, supplied with electrical power. The power supply device 25 comprises a control electronics with a known control and drive unit 27 for the downstream motor 28, which allows, for example, a power regulation of the vacuum cleaner. A switch 29, the vacuum cleaner is put into operation. In the unit symbolizing the vacuum cleaner 12 in FIG. 3, a power supply device, indicated generally by the reference numeral 30, is shown. The power supply device 30 includes one or more batteries 31 that drive a blower motor 32 hand vacuum cleaner 12. For this purpose, a switch 33 shown in FIG. 3 in the OFF position is provided, with which the operating circuit 34 can be closed by transferring it to an ON contact 33a and the hand vacuum cleaner 12 can be put into operation.
Der Ladestromkreis 35 endet in zwei in die Unterseite des Gehäuseteil 20 mündende Ladeklemmen 36, 37.The arranged in the housing part 20 of the vacuum cleaner 12 batteries 31 are rechargeable and can be charged after insertion of the hand vacuum cleaner in the recess 18 of the main housing 13 of the vacuum cleaner 11 via the power supply device 25 of the vacuum cleaner. For this purpose, the power supply device 30 of the hand vacuum cleaner on a rechargeable batteries 31 containing charging circuit 35, which can be activated by turning the switch 33 to a LADE contact 33b. The charging circuit 35 terminates in two opening into the bottom of the housing part 20 load terminals 36, 37th
For charging the batteries 31 of the hand vacuum cleaner 12, the power supply device 25 of the vacuum cleaner 11, a charger 38, which is fed via a branch 39 from the main circuit 40 of the vacuum cleaner. The charger 38 has charging terminals 41, 42 which terminate in the bottom of the recess 18 of the vacuum cleaner 11. In the position shown in Figure 1, the hand vacuum cleaner 12 is disposed in the recess 18 that the corresponding, provided on the underside of the housing part 20 of the hand vacuum cleaner 12 charging terminals 36, 37 in electrical contact with the charging terminals 41, 42 of the charger 26 of the Canister 11 are located. Then, when the switch 33 is in the loading position and the canister vacuum cleaner 11 is connected to the power supply via the plug 16, the batteries 31 of the hand vacuum cleaner 12 can be charged. In the embodiment shown in Figure 3, the charging of the batteries 31 takes place regardless of the position of the switch 29, that is, regardless of whether the vacuum cleaner is in operation or not. The charging circuit 35 also has a light-emitting diode 43, through which a current that can be set via parallel resistors 44, 45 flows when charging the batteries and signals the charging process to the user. As a charger, a simple AC / DC converter can be used, which charges the batteries 31 with a constant current. Preferably, however, a so-called smart charger is used, which allows a built-in microcontroller control, monitoring and termination of the charging process. This can also be realized more complex charging methods, such as the charge of the battery by means of current pulses. So you can, for example, realize a detection of the full charge of the batteries 31 and thus a safe fast charge without the risk of harmful overload. Also, if necessary, an automatic discharge of the rechargeable batteries or an automatic switch to trickle charge after completion of the actual charging process can be realized. Likewise, a (not shown here) display device may be provided on the hand vacuum cleaner 12, which signals the state of charge of the batteries 31.
