Abstract

A method of providing access to electronically-stored content resources, the content resources including one or more freely accessible resources and one or more commercial resources to which access can be purchased, the method including the steps of displaying a pre-populated list (40) of content references for a specific topic or subject to a user; upon user selection of a content reference corresponding to a freely accessible resource (16), providing user access to that freely accessible resource; upon user selection of a content reference corresponding to a commercial resource (18), determining whether access rights (34, 36) have been purchased for that commercial resource; and if so, providing user access to that commercial resource.
