Abstract

The object of the invention is a hospital bed especially designed for use in departments of intensive medical care. A hospital bed, provided with a subdivided lie-down section (4) and a mobile base (8), is characteristic in that it contains mechanisms effecting lateral tilt and that it is supported by three columns (1), (2) and (3), which are fixed in place by one end in the mobile base (8). The two columns (1) and (2) are situated at patient's legs, and the column (3) is situated behind patent's head; the columns (1) and (2) are interconnected with one another by a lateral tilt system (5), which is separably fixed to the lie-down section (4) by means of rotational kinematic pairs (4a) and (5d); on the column (3) there is a separably fixed system of longitudinal tilts and that of lateral tilt consisting of a unit (6) fixed onto the column (3) and a unit (7) fixed to the lie-down section by means of the kinematic pair (4b).

Description

HOSPITAL BED
The object of the invention is a hospital bed especially designed for use in departments of intensive medical care.
There are known hospital beds which are provided with lie-down sections supported on three columns and that enable the effecting of lateral tilt of the lie- down section; however, as the issue of the lateral tilt of the lie-down section is difficult to resolve, their structure is based on complicated kinematic systems.
The aim of the invention is to devise such structure of a hospital bed that would be especially adapted for use in departments of intensive medical care, which would enable the changing of heights of lie-down sections at patient's head and legs, and that would facilitate the attaining of longitudinal tilts, called trendelenburg and antitrendelenburg, as well as lateral tilts, which, in effect, brings about provision of enhanced access for medical equipment and medical devices in departments of intensive medical care.
A hospital bed, in accordance with the invention, is provided with a subdivided lie-down section and a mobile base, and it is characteristic in that it contains a mechanism effecting lateral tilt and that it is supported by three columns which are fixed in place by one end in the mobile base; where two columns are situated at the patient's legs, and the third column is situated behind the patient's head; the two columns are interconnected with one another by a lateral tilt system which is separably fixed to the lie-down section by means of rotational kinematic pairs; and where on the third column there is a separably fixed system of longitudinal tilts and that of lateral tilt consisting of a unit fixed onto the third column and a unit fixed to the lie-down section by means of a kinematic pair.
The mechanisms of the lateral tilt system, according to the first embodiment, are linked at the head to the third column and enable rotation of the lie-down section around the axis "x" in the kinematic pair, where the third column rotates around an axis being parallel to the axis "z" and the units rotate relative to an axis being parallel to the axis "y" in the kinematic pairs, whereas the two columns at the legs rotate around axes being parallel to the axis "z", the lateral tilt system rotates around axes parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pairs, the lateral tilt system rotates around axes being parallel to the axis "x" in the kinematic pairs, the lateral tilt system rotates around an axis being parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pair and it shifts along an axis being parallel to the axis "y" in the same kinematic pair, and also the lateral tilt system shifts along an axis being parallel to the axis "y" in the kinematic pair.

The mechanisms of the lateral tilt system, according to the third embodiment, are linked at the head to the third column and enable rotation of the lie-down section around the axis "x" in the kinematic pair, where the column rotates around an axis being parallel to the axis "z", and the unit rotates relative to an axis being parallel to the axis "y" in the kinematic pair and it shifts along an axis parallel to the axis "x" in the kinematic pair, and where the two columns rotate around axes parallel to the axis "z", and the lateral tilt system rotates around axes being parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pairs, the lateral tilt system rotates around axes being parallel to the axis "x" in the kinematic pairs, the lateral tilt system rotates around an axis being parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pair and it shifts along an axis parallel to the axis "y" in the kinematic pair.
The object of the invention has been presented in the drawing sheets, where Fig. 1 presents a kinematic diagram of the lateral tilt mechanism executed according to the first embodiment, Fig. 2 presents a kinematic diagram of the lateral tilt mechanism executed according to the second embodiment, Fig. 3 presents a kinematic diagram of the lateral tilt mechanism executed according to the third embodiment, Fig. 4 presents a hospital bed in an axonometric view from the top, and Fig. 5 presents a hospital bed in an axonometric view from the bottom. As it has been presented in the drawing, the hospital bed is provided with a four-part lie-down section 4 with one fixed segment and three movable ones, supported by three electric columns J., 2 and 3, fixed in place in a mobile base 8. The two columns: 1, and 2 are situated at patient's legs, and the column 3 is situated behind patent's head. The columns Λ_ and 2 are interconnected with one another by a lateral tilt system 5, which is fixed to the lie-down section 4 of the bed by means of rotational kinematic pairs 4a and 5d.
There is a system fixed on the column 3 that enables effecting longitudinal tilts and a lateral tilt. This system consists of a unit 6 fixed onto the column 3 and of a unit 7 fixed to the lie-down section by means of the kinematic pair 4b.
The Lateral tilt of the bed's lie-down section is effected when one of the columns I1 or 2 moves either up or down, whereas the column 3 at that time remains motionless.
At the time of effecting the lateral tilt of bed, in the individual kinematic pairs indicated in the figures, rotations and shifts take place in the assumed x, y, z coordinates system. The axis "x" of the co-ordinate system is positioned on an axis in relation to which the lateral tilt of the lie-down section takes place.
Depending on the manner of resolving the question of constructional kinematic pairs, the system bringing about the lateral tilt of the lie-down section may be executed in three distinct embodiments. Each of these solutions makes possible the making of any movements, while observing the condition of inviolability regarding the setting of columns in the base.
Fig. 1 presents the kinematic diagram of the lateral tilt mechanism executed according to the first embodiment, in which the system mechanisms make the following movements - the column 3 at the head:
• the lie-down section 4 rotates around the axis "x" in the kinematic pair 4b, • the column 3 rotates around an axis parallel to the axis "z",
• the units 6 and 7 rotate relative to an axis parallel to the axis "y" in kinematic pairs 6a and 7a, while the columns 1 and 2 at the legs:
• the columns i and 2 rotate around axes parallel to the axis "z",
• the lateral tilt system 5 rotates around axes parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pairs 4a and 5d,
• the lateral tilt system 5 rotates around axes parallel to the axis "x" in the kinematic pairs 5b and 5c,
• the lateral tilt system 5 rotates around an axis parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pair 5a and it shifts along an axis parallel to the axis "y" in the same kinematic pair.
• the lateral tilt system 5 shifts along an axis parallel to the axis "y" in the kinematic pair 5c.
Fig. 2 presents the kinematic diagram of the lateral tilt mechanism executed according to the second embodiment. The system mechanisms make the following movements - the column 3 at the head:
• the lie-down section 4 rotates around the axis "x" in the kinematic pair 4b,
• the column 3 rotates around an axis parallel to the axis "z",
• the units 6 and 7 rotate relative to an axis parallel to the axis "y" in the kinematic pairs 6a and 7a, while the columns 1 and 2 at the legs:
• the columns 1 and 2 rotate around axes parallel to the axis "z",
• the lateral tilt system 5 rotates around axes parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pairs 4a and 5d,
• the lateral tilt system 5 rotates around axes parallel to the axis "x" in the kinematic pairs 5b, 5c and 5e,
' • the lateral tilt system 5 rotates around an axis parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pair 5a and it shifts along an axis parallel to the axis "y" in the same kinematic pair. Fig. 3 presents the kinematic diagram of the lateral tilt mechanism executed according to the third embodiment. The system mechanisms make the following movements - the column 3 at the head:
• the lie-down section 4 rotates around the axis "x" in the kinematic pair 4b,
• the column 3 rotates around an axis parallel to the axis "z",
• the unit 6 rotates relative to an axis parallel to the axis "y" in the kinematic pair 6a and it shifts along an axis parallel to the axis "x" in the same kinematic pair, while the columns i and 2 at the legs:
• the columns 1. and 2 rotate around axes parallel to the axis "z",
• the lateral tilt system 5 rotates around axes parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pairs 4a and 5d,
• the lateral tilt system 5 rotates around axes parallel to the axis "x" in the kinematic pairs 5b, 5c and 5e,
• the lateral tilt system 5 rotates around an axis parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pair 5a and it shifts along an axis parallel to the axis "y" in the same kinematic pair.

Claims

Patent Claims
1. A hospital bed, provided with a subdivided lie-down section and a mobile base, characteristic in that it contains mechanisms effecting lateral tilt and that it is supported by three columns (V), (2) and (3), which are fixed in place by one end in the mobile base (8); the two columns (1) and (2) are situated at patient's legs, and the column (3) is situated behind patent's head; the columns (1) and (2) are interconnected with one another by the lateral tilt system (5), which is separably fixed to the lie-down section (4) by means of rotational kinematic pairs (4a) and (5d), and where on the column (3) there is a separably fixed system of longitudinal tilts and that of lateral tilt consisting of a unit (6) fixed onto the column (3) and of a unit (7) fixed to the lie-down section by means of the kinematic pair (4b).

A bed, according to Claim 1 , characteristic in that the mechanisms of the lateral tilt system at the head linked to the column (3) enable rotation of the lie- down section (4) around the axis "x" in the kinematic pair (4b), where the column (3) rotates around an axis being parallel to the axis "z", and the units (6) and (7) rotate relative to an axis being parallel to the axis y in the kinematic pairs (6a) and (7a), whereas the columns (i) and (2) at the legs rotate around axes being parallel to the axis "z", the lateral tilt system (5) rotates around axes parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pairs (4a) and (5d), the lateral tilt system (5) rotates around axes being parallel to the axis "x" in the kinematic pairs (5b) and (5c), the lateral tilt system (5) rotates around an axis being parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pair (5a) and it shifts along an axis being parallel to the axis "y" in the same kinematic pair, and the lateral tilt system (5) shifts along an axis being parallel to the axis ,,y" in the kinematic pair (5c).
3. A bed, according to Claim 1 , characteristic in that the mechanisms of the lateral tilt system at the head linked to the column (3) enable rotation of the lie- down section (4) around the axis "x" in the kinematic pair (4b), where the column (3) rotates around an axis being parallel to the axis "z", and the units (6) and (7) rotate relative to an axis being parallel to the axis "y" in the kinematic pairs (6a) and (7a), whereas the columns (!) and (2) at the legs rotate around axes being parallel to the axis "z", the lateral tilt system (5) rotates around axes parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pairs (4a) and (5d), the lateral tilt system (5) rotates around axes being parallel to the axis "x" in the kinematic pairs (5b), (5c) and (5e), the lateral tilt system (5) rotates around an axis being parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pair (5a) and it shifts along an axis being parallel to the axis "y" in the kinematic pair (5a).

A bed, according to Claim 1 , characteristic in that the mechanisms of the lateral tilt system at the head linked to the column (3) enable rotation of the lie- down section (4) around an axis "x" in the kinematic pair (4b), where the column (3) rotates around an axis being parallel to the axis "z", and the unit (6) rotates relative to an axis being parallel to the axis "y" in the kinematic pair (6a) and it shifts along an axis parallel to the axis "x" in the kinematic pair (6a), and where the columns (!) and (2) rotate around axes parallel to the axis "z", and the lateral tilt system (5) rotates around axes being parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pairs (4a) and (5d), the lateral tilt system (5) rotates around axes being parallel to the axis "x" in the kinematic pairs (5b), (5c) and (5e), the lateral tilt system (5) rotates around an axis being parallel to the axis "z" in the kinematic pair (5a) and it shifts along an axis parallel to the axis "y" in the kinematic pair (5a).
