Abstract
An apparatus and method for estimating a motion parameter of a subject element such as a human or an animal or an object including a plurality of accelerometers, each operable to provide a signal corresponding to an acceleration measurement with at least two of the accelerometers measuring acceleration in two directions, separated by an angle greater than zero degrees The apparatus also includes a processing system coupled to the accelerometers and operable to determine a motion parameter from the acceleration measurement and utilizing filtering techniques A statistical model may also be used in the determination.
