Abstract

The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for processing ultrasonic image volumes as well as to a corresponding computer program and a corresponding computer-readable storage medium. In the method for processing ultrasonic image volumes, the invention proposes using a transducer of a 3D ultrasound scanner to detect the 3D ultrasonic image volumes, detecting the position and orientation of the transducer while detecting the 3D ultrasonic image volumes, and combining them with the respective SD ultrasonic image volumes detected. Provision is also made for detected SD ultrasonic image volumes to be combined, while evaluating the respective position and orientation, with other detected 3D ultrasonic image volumes to form an extended ultrasonic image volume (meta volume) and to be stored, and/or for the detected 3D ultrasonic image volumes to be stored individually together with the combined data relating to the position and orientation.
