Abstract

The invention relates to electrical engineering. The inventive device for forming a uniform electric field in an electrically conductive medium comprises a zero electrode and cylindrical phase electrodes which are uniformly and coaxially disposed on several, at least three, different diameter phase rings. The inventive method for forming a uniform electric field consists in supplying voltage to all phase rings during the passage of one of the alternating-current half-cycles from an electrode to an electrically conductive medium in such a way that the current is limited on each phase ring. The connection of a zero phase to a zero electrode makes it possible to form taper surfaces consisting of like charges flowing from the end edges of cylindrical phase electrodes through the electrically conductive medium towards said zero electrode and to create areas of uniformly located charges in the specified volume of the electrically conductive medium which is arranged between the end faces of the cylindrical phase electrodes and the zero electrode embodied in the form of a disc. Said invention makes it possible to obtain the maximum electric field distribution during the passage of one of the half-cycles of alternating current through the electrically conductive medium.
