Beim Einsatz der Einrichtung wird der Patient in Rückenlage auf der Immobilisationsvorrichtung gelagert und mit dem Fixierungssystem immobilisiert. Die Positioniervorrichtung wird in die Nullposition eingestellt. Der Markierungsblock der mit Kontrastmittel gefüllt ist wird in der
Positioniervorrichtung in der Nullposition fixiert und mittels bildgebendem Verfahren lokalisiert. Dazu scannen wir eine schnelle dynamische 3DTl Sequenz. Nach kurzer Zeit wird Kontrastmittel intravenös verabreicht um die Anreicherung des Kontrastmittels über die Zeit betrachten zu können. Nach dem wenige Minuten dauernden Scannvorgang wird erst der Markierungsblock als Referenz gesucht. Dies stellt den Nullpunkt des X-Y-Z Koordinatensystems dar. In einem weiteren Schritt wird die Läsion gesucht und es wird die relative Position der Läsion bezüglich des Nullpunktes bestimmt. Dies ist möglich entweder mit den bestehenden Softwaretools an der Konsole des MRT's oder CT' s oder mit einer geeigneten Kalkulationssoftware. Mit einer Kalkulationssoftware ist es möglich den Markierungsblock zu suchen, diesen Punkt als Referenzpunkt zu definieren, danach die Läsion zu suchen und diese auch zu definieren. Die Software berechnet anschliessend die Einstichstelle für die Biopsienadel und die Tiefe der Läsion in Bezug zu der X, Y und Z Achse. Es ist jetzt möglich mit Hilfe eines Koaxialsystems und einer Biopsienadel die Läsion zu biopsieren bzw. eine Gewebeprobe zu entnehmen. Mehrfache Gewebeentnahme ist möglich durch dass das Koaxialsystem im Gewebe bleiben kann und die Biopsienadel durch die Öffnung des Koaxialsystems ein- und ausgeführt werden kann.
