Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un organe de purification des gaz d'échappement comprenant une enveloppe, un bloc de purification des gaz d'échappement disposé dans l'enveloppe, et au moins un élément de maintien du bloc. Selon l'invention, le procédé est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend les étapes suivantes : acquérir une première grandeur représentative d'une masse (Mb) du bloc de purification des gaz d'échappement; déterminer à partir au moins de la première grandeur acquise une densité de montage (dmonté) du ou de chaque élément de maintien; déterminer au moins un diamètre (Denveloppe) de l'enveloppe en fonction de la densité de montage (dmonté) déterminée; assembler l'enveloppe, le ou les éléments de maintien et le bloc de purification des gaz, de manière à obtenir le diamètre déterminé pour l'enveloppe et la densité de montage (dmonté) déterminée pour le ou les éléments de maintien.
