Abstract
Endoprostheses (20) include an endoprosthesis wall (23) that includes a surface layer (24) that includes a metallic material and that defines a plurality of pores (31). One or more therapeutic agents (33) fill one or more pores of the surface layer, and a non-polymeric coating (30) covers the therapeutic agent in the one or more pores. The endoprostheses can, for example, deliver a therapeutic agent, such as a drug, in a controlled manner over an extended period of time.
