Abstract

The present invention relates to a filtration device having a spiral support member in which filtration is employed to remove contaminating particulate matter mixed in with the water in ballast tanks and with which back flushing is easy. The invention comprises a filtering material of which both ends are open and which has a passageway formed on the inside, and a supporting means which is inserted on the inside of the filtering material. The supporting means is formed in the shape of a spiral. The invention is arranged in such a way that water, which is filtered by flowing in and then passing through the filtering material, passes through while forming a vortex due to the supporting means.
