Abstract
Currently there are various ways a caller can phone a call recipient. For example, a caller can directly phone a call recipient by phoning the recipient's number. A caller can also phone a directory service's number and then be assisted by an automated speech recognition system (also called a voice or sound recognition system or service) that then connects the caller with the recipient. Currently businesses advertise their own phone numbers individually. In other words, each business advertises its own number as a contact number which clients or customers can contact them on. In other words, businesses do not advertise a directory service's number or a call assist service's number as their contact number. This innovation involves a shared advertised contact number which is used by more than one business as a contact number. This innovation involves the shared number holder allocating a unique sound recording to each shared number user and their unique contact number, which are their own contact numbers, and which are stored with the shared number holder. Each shared number user must advertise their unique sound recording when advertising the shared number as a contact number. Description
A shared advertised contact number with multiple sound recordings
Currently there are various ways a caller can phone a call recipient. For example, a caller can directly phone a call recipient by phoning the recipient's number. A caller can also phone a directory service's number and then be assisted by an operator whom then connects the caller with the recipient. A caller can also phone a directory service's number and then be assisted by an automated speech recognition system (also called a voice or sound recognition system or service) that then connects the caller with the recipient. A caller can also phone a call assist service's number and ask the operator to phone and ask the recipient whether the recipient wants to pay for the phone call and should the recipient agree, then the call assist service will connect the caller with the recipient.
A business, in the context of this document, can also refer to a sole trader, company, enterprise or firm, non profit organization or group and governmental organization and is defined as a legally recognized organization designed to provide goods and/or services to consumers, either directly or indirectly through their daily business activities.
Currently businesses advertise their own phone numbers individually. In other words, each business advertises its own number as a contact number which clients or customers can contact them on. In other words, businesses do not advertise a directory service's number or a call assist service's number as their contact number. An example would be The Coca-Cola Company whom does not advertise their contact number as the contact number of a directory service or call assist service's number. Currently there does not exist a business that specializes in caller assist services, in example a directory service, which provides its telephone number to its customers or clients to be advertised as a contact number to their customers or clients.
This innovation involves a shared advertised contact number which is used by more than one business as a contact number. An example would be The Coca-Cola Company and the Ford Motor Company both advertising a common or shared contact number which callers can use to contact them. The shared number users are not the holders or owners of the shared number and each have their own unique and separate or different telephone number.
This innovation involves the shared number holder allocating a unique sound recording to each shared number user and their unique contact number, which are their own contact numbers, and which are stored with the shared number holder. Each shared number user must advertise their unique sound recording when advertising the shared number as a contact number.
With this innovation, a caller phones a shared number holder and by means of producing sounds that resemble the sound recording of a specific recipient (shared number user) is connected with the recipient by the shared number holder. This shared number can be used by more than one user (party) but each shared number user has a unique sound recording.
The invention may be better understood with reference to Figure 1, which serves as an example, as follows:-
There are two shared number users Party (1 ) 1 and Party (2) 2.
The shared number holder is Party (3) 3 and the caller is Party (4) 4. Party (1 ) 1 has a unique Telephone Number (A) 5 (alternative number), Party (2) 2 has a unique Telephone Number (B) 6 (alternative number) and the shared number holder Party (3) 3 has a unique Telephone Number (E) 7.
Party (3) 3 has a Contact List 12 which contains the Telephone Number (A) 5 and Sound Recording (C) 13 of Party (1) 1. Contact List 12 also contains the Telephone Number (B) 6 and Sound Recording (D) 14 of Party (2) 2.
Party 1 (1 ) advertises its contact number as the shared Contact Number (E) 7 with Sound Recording (C) 13. Party 2 (2) advertises its contact number as the shared Contact Number (E) 7 with Sound Recording (D) 14.
Party (4) 4 wants to contact Party (1 ) 1 using its Communication Device 11.
Party (4) 4 phones the shared advertised Contact Number (E) 7 of Party (3) 3 and reaches the Communication Device 10 of Party (3) 3.
Party 3 (3) provides Party 4 (4) the opportunity to produce sounds resembling the Sound Recording (C) 13 of Party 1 (1) which is part of the Contact List 12.
Should Party (3) 3 be able to match the produced sounds with the Sound Recording (C) 13 by using a Sound Recognition Service 15, then Party (3) 3 connects Party (4) 4 to the Communication Device 8 on contact telephone number (A) 5.
Should Party (4) 4 wanting to speak with Party 2 (2), after phoning Contact Number (E) 7, produce a matching series of sounds resembling the Sound Recording (D) 14, then Party 3 (3) will connect Party (4) 4 with the Communication Device 9 on contact telephone number (B) 6.
Claims

2. The term "shared number", mentioned in claim 1 , can be associated with any finite number of unique telephone numbers and sound recordings.

9. The sound recording, mentioned in claim 1 , can be a single sound or a combination of sounds.
10. Any sound recognition system or service, mentioned in claim 1 (also called a voice recognition system or service), that is able to receive sound and then compare and match it to a stored sound recording can be used to match a call recipient with a shared number user.
11. The term "advertise", mentioned in claim 1 , refers to an action of a business by which it is calling to the attention of its customers or clients, by using marketing or advertisement medium(s) in example a magazine and/or television commercial, its service(s) and/or product(s) available to them.
