Abstract

The invention relates to a display method for a display device for a vehicle, comprising a linear stretching of brightness values of an information content to a total available dynamic range of brightness values of a display area, detecting an environmental condition, non-linear adjustment of brightness values of the information content obtained by the linear stretching on the basis of a detected environmental condition, and displaying on the display area brightness values of the information content which have been obtained by the non-linear adjustment. A display device for a vehicle comprises systems that are designed to carry out the display method.
