Description

Vorrichtung zum Stranggießen von Strängen  Apparatus for continuous casting of strands
thermoplastischem Kunststoff  thermoplastic
The invention relates to a device for continuous casting of strands of thermoplastic material, which emerge from at least one straight row of nozzles from a nozzle head for further processing in a granulator.
Such a device is shown and described in DE 4 026 337. With such a known device strands of liquid plastic are pressed out of a series of nozzles to which the plastic is supplied in liquid form. The individual plastic strands emerging from the nozzles drop to one immediately after exiting the nozzles
Danach werden dann in bekannter Weise die Stränge geführt und einem Water slide, which is fed on its one side with cooling water, which runs down the sloping slide, taking along the falling from the nozzles on the slide strands and superficially cools. Thereafter, the strands are then performed in a known manner and a
Granulator supplied which provides the desired in this process plastic granules.
The problem with this type of promotion of the initially plastic slips plastic is the lateral mobility of the plastic strands on the slide, which easily leads to a clash of plastic strands and thus sticking of the strands. For this reason, one has used various methods of guiding the plastic strands on the slide, z. B. grooves as guides for the strands or a particularly fast water flow on the chute, which is to ensure that in the transport of the strands on the chute these always maintain a minimum distance from each other. This transition from the nozzles to the chute has often proved problematic because the plastic strands occasionally tend to approach and stick together due to some support on the chute so that it has been shown that not always a trouble-free continuous operation with such systems is possible. The invention is therefore based on the object to prevent such Verklebungsfälle of plastic strands after exiting the nozzle with certainty, according to the invention this is done by a device which is characterized in that parallel and adjacent to a series of nozzle openings at least one hole arrangement is provided which is directed onto the row of strands emerging from the nozzles and charged with a pressurized fluid which, as a fluid veil, flows around the row of leaked strands.
With this device, a rinsing of the molten plastic strands can be achieved immediately after exiting a nozzle, whereby the plastic strands on their way from the nozzle head to a slide immediately given a treatment that takes the plastic strands due to the resulting surface cooling, the tendency to approach each other and to stick together. So it is a safe trouble-free management of
Plastic strands obtained immediately after exiting the nozzles, which problems of any contact with the first superficially particularly sticky plastic strands is avoided with certainty and the plastic strands in any case superficially cooled reach the chute on which they are then further cooled in a known manner and then granulated can be.
The hole arrangement for the admission of the pressure fluid can be designed as a series of individual holes which are arranged as a straight hole arrangement either one-sided or both sides of the nozzles so that immediately after exiting the nozzle openings, the initially still molten plastic strands are sprayed from the side , with which these the
Klebeneigung weitestgehend genommen wird. Adhesion tendency is largely taken.
The hole arrangement for the supply of the pressurized fluid can also be designed as a longitudinal gap. A longitudinal gap is compared to a hole assembly with a series of holes a structurally simple design, in which, however, a correspondingly higher demand for pressurized fluid is required.
In the figures, an embodiment of the invention is shown. Figure 1 is a side view of the device with the nozzle row for the exit of the plastic strands and adjacent hole arrangements for the admission of a pressurized fluid.

Figure 1 shows the device in side view. The molten plastic strands 1 emerge from a reactor 2, to which the respective plastic to be processed is supplied in liquid form. On the underside of the reactor 2 there is a series of nozzles 3 explained in more detail with reference to FIG. 2, from which the plastic in each case emerges as a strand and is collected by a chute 4, which is charged in a known manner with a water flowing down therefrom that the strands guided by the chute and its extension 5 continue to be constantly lapped with water. In addition to the row of nozzle openings 3, the two longitudinal gaps 6 and 7 are arranged, from which the pressurized fluid flows out under pressure and, due to the alignment of the longitudinal gaps 6 and 7, directs this directly onto the strands 1. The longitudinal gaps 6 and 7 are supplied with the pressurized fluid via the feeders 8 and 9. As a result of this design, the plastic strands 1 to be sliced are immediately supplied with a cooling medium, preferably water, which reaches the plastic strands 1 exiting there directly at the nozzle openings 3 and flows around them, thus ensuring mutual adhesion of the plastic strands with certainty in the direction of the chute 4 prevented.
The arrangement of the nozzle openings 3 and the longitudinal gaps 6 and 7 will be clarified with reference to FIG. 2, which shows a plan view of the nozzle openings 3.
According to Figure 3, the row with the nozzle openings 3 in the middle between the rows of holes 6 and 7, through which the pressurized fluid, as shown in Figure 1, flows out and on from the nozzles. 3

Anstelle der Längsspalten 6 und 7 kann auch jeweils eine Lochreihe mit einzelnen Löchern 10 und 1 1 treten, die einzeln nebeneinander so dicht angeordnet sind, dass sich damit praktisch ein Instead of the longitudinal columns 6 and 7 can also each have a row of holes with individual holes 10 and 1 1 occur, which are individually arranged side by side so close that practically a
durchgehender Strahl von Druckfluid ergibt, wie er gemäß der Anordnung nach Figur 2 aus den beiden Längsspalten 6 und 7 austritt. continuous jet of pressurized fluid results, as it emerges from the two longitudinal columns 6 and 7 according to the arrangement of Figure 2.
In Figure 4, the overall arrangement of a device for continuous casting of strands of thermoplastic material together with the other organs for the processing of Plastic strands shown, with recourse to FIG. In fact, according to FIG. 4, a nozzle arrangement and hole arrangement is used, as shown in FIG. In the apparatus of Figure 4, therefore, a series of nozzles 3 is used, which cooperates with the longitudinal columns 6 and 7. The plastic strands 1 guided over the chute 4/5 finally reach the granulator, where they are cut into granules in the desired manner.
Essentially water or inerting gas is used as the pressurized fluid, which primarily prevents oxidation of the small plastic strands.
