Abstract

The invention relates to a flashlight having a housing having the shape of an elongated cylinder, having a ridge (1) extending substantially over the entire length of the housing, in particular implemented as a heat sink, connected by means of a clip connector (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) to a transparent shield (2) implemented in the form of a slotted tube, wherein the ridge (1) forms a supporting surface (9) defining a secant through the housing (1,2) in cross section, wherein the supporting surface (9) supports a board (10) disposed as one or more pieces substantially over the entire length of the housing and on which light-emitting diodes (11) are disposed, in particular in a row. In order to refine the known flashlight in a manner advantageous for use, according to the invention, the clip connector (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) cannot be released by hand, to which end the ridge (1) implements a fastening plane directed to a hollow of the housing, in which two parallel latching grooves (3, 5) leaving a dovetail or mushroom-shaped latching rib (7) between said grooves run in parallel on each side of the row of light-emitting diodes, wherein a latching lip (4, 6) of the shield (2) engages in each groove.
