Abstract

The invention relates to a universal mount (100) for mobile phones or GPS units, for attaching to the rear-view mirror, said rear-view mirror having at the back a stem with a ball joint for attaching it to the windscreen, said mount comprising: - a plate (7) that is positioned at the back of the rear-view mirror, having two arms (2, 3), one on either side of the stem for attaching the rear-view mirror to the windscreen, forming hooks over the top edge of the rear-view mirror, - the plate (7) at the back of the rear-view mirror has, towards the bottom, one or more hooks for gripping the lower edge of the rear-view mirror, - the plate comprises means (21) for holding a mobile phone or GPS unit. The invention also relates to a universal mount for mobile phones or GPS units, for attaching to the rear-view mirror, comprising jaws (31, 32) positioned on a bar (30'), one of the jaws (32) being slidable with a clamping handle (33) for securing the mount to the rear-view mirror and a release catch (34) for releasing it, and comprising means for holding a mobile phone or GPS unit.

Description

UNIVERSAL ATTACHMENT WITH HOOKS OR JAWS FOR

MOBILE AND GPS

The authorities responsible for road safety in many countries have banned the use of MOBILE, or mobile phone, by car: it is distracting in the driving of the vehicle: hold with one hand the steering wheel and the other or two hands a MOBILE turned on to answer, make a call, play with the keys, holds more of the juggler of the driver than an attitude allowing the concentration on the driving and the followed road. Therefore, it is only allowed to use a MOBILE in France when the vehicle is stopped.

Using the screen, speaker and keys of a MOBILE is considered distractive. French law has therefore enacted regulations.

This is not the case with the MOBILES integrated into the dashboard and speakers of the vehicle, so that drivers become "multitasking" by assuming their driving function and their function of communicating telephone. It is recognized that this use, if properly used, for example by reducing speed, is possible without affecting the conduct, and if the conversations held do not distract the mind of the driver too much.

It is not the same navigation devices called GPS, which are used as an aid to driving current, although they consist of a screen, a speaker and keys, often touch.

The use of the screen, the speaker and the keys of a GPS fixed on the dashboard or on the windshield, is admitted, under the responsibility of the driver. It will be said that it is tolerated by the legislator so much is recognized their advantage for the driver to follow a route, locate his vehicle on the right track, make the economy of detours, etc., knowing in advance what is the action to be taken he must do. Recommendation is however made not to use the keys of the GPS while driving, except the changes of scale, and their use is also limited on the marks equipping the vehicles in 1st monte. It is observed that the users of navigation devices called autonomous GPS, those precisely attached to the dashboard or the windshield, are not limited. GPS users tend to behave "in multitasking", for driving and navigation.

We also observe that when a MOBILE is not used by the driver, it leaves it on the seat next to the ground, in his pocket, in his bag, but also that the driver of MOBILE or GPS organized, uses a "head set" with headphones in the ears and a microphone.

The use of the "head set" is actually less dangerous than holding a MOBILE in the hand, and it adds to the listening comfort of GPS instructions. But this adaptation for listening to conversations and messages from the MOBILE and GPS messages, does not solve all the problems, for the good communication of a MOBILE or the good reception of the instructions of a GPS or a MOBILE used in its GPS function: the man needs his 5 senses to drive. To believe that he can follow a conversation or an itinerary by hearing alone is a delusion.

Today, despite the previous observations, the recommendation is that the driver is careful because he is responsible for his conduct Most often the driver uses the solution to fix on the dashboard or on the windshield his MOBILE or his GPS with a fastener very generally made of a sucking sucker.

The PCT patent WO 2009/000987 A2, which has been the subject of an application for extension in EUROPE, CHINA and INDIA, describes an invention relating to a universal fastener linked to the central rearview mirror by means of the axis of mirror ball joint crimp the windshield, very often located in the middle of the back or at the top of the back of the mirror. Patent No. 51615 filed March 5, 2010 discloses a universal fastener attached to the interior rearview mirror for receiving a mobile or a navigation device or MP3 device.

The patent describes here an invention relating to a universal fastener linked to the central rearview mirror by means of a system of hooks attaching to the lower and upper edges of the rearview mirror, the central portion which connects the hooks preferably arching against force on the back of the mirror.

It completes the PCT patent WO 2009/000987 A2 and the filed patent No. F 1051615,

The object of the invention is to define a MOBILE or GPS fastener, universally adaptable to any mirror regardless of the location and shape of the fastener of the mirror to windshield or ceiling. Indeed, if the attachment described in PCT Patent W0 2009 / 000987A2 is called Universal, mirrors exist whose ball foot instead of being located in the back of the mirror, is not accessible or too important compared at the hole of the coat rack or fixed on the upper edge of the rearview mirror, making it difficult to play against the force of the fastener clip of the universal fastener, against the back of the mirror.

A feature of the invention is that the MOBILE or GPS Attachment object of this patent fits perfectly to the cap attachment of any MOBILE or any GPS, regardless of their dimensions of patent pending 51615, with a screw and oblong orientation system at the location of the screw and oblong of PCT patent WO 2009/000987 A2 (Figure 1 -20), making it possible to use for the attachment of MOBILE or GPS of the patent 1051615, either Universal Clasp Door Clip or the Universal Hook Clamp of this patent.

Another feature of the invention is that the upper hook is in fact constituted by a double bracket with hooks, each branch being disposed on each side of the volume occupied by the foot of the mirror attachment to the windshield, whatever its shape, to then hang on the top edge of the mirror: this volume can be a ball joint on the upper edge of the rearview mirror, such as Volkswagen or Toyota, or a patella support on the upper back the rearview mirror as Smart, or a ball axis whose diameter would be very wide for example nearly 2 cm like mirrors Mercedes, etc..

The two upper hook tabs in the manner of the caps of patent 51615 are provided with pads or liners of foam or other not to scratch and not slip from their attachment location to the top edge of the mirror. The counter-force plate finally comprises the curved oblong of horizontal orientation of the suspended clip of the MOBILE and GPS screens. This clip according to the filed patent No. F 1051615 is fixed by a screw running in this oblong. so that the universal MOBILE or GPS clip is turned left or right. This one involves, one recalls it, the two caps between which one places any MOBILE or any GPS, regardless of their dimensions. You can also insert in the same space where you have the MOBILE or GPS a solar battery to power the MOBILE or GPS which allows you to use only a short power cord not interfering between the two, as are annoying the power cables from the cigarette lighter. It is also possible to suspend by an oblong plate the solar battery on the back of the patent fastener by hooking this plate to the adjustment screws of the upper hooks described.

The invention therefore relates to a universal fastener MOBILE or GPS attached to a mirror, this mirror having in its back a fastening foot to the windshield with a ball head having a volume,

characterized in that it comprises:

- a plate positioned on the rear of the mirror equipped with

- two arms located on each side of the volume of the foot of the mirror attachment to the windshield, hooking on the top edge of the mirror, in that the plate on the back of the rear-view mirror comprises one or more hook-arms downwards to dock with the lower edge of the rear-view mirror, in that the plate comprises means for receiving a MOBILE or a GPS.

According to one embodiment, the plate is provided with a counter-force system which makes it possible to flexibly deform the plate and the arms to secure the fastener to the back of the mirror, this counterforce system being unique that is that is to say that it has a single point of support on the back of the rearview mirror under the foot of the mirror or possibly double, that is to say, it then has two support points located on either side the volume of the foot of the mirror attachment to the windshield.

In one embodiment, the hooks of the arms are cap-shaped.

In one embodiment, the plate has a curved portion comprising an oblong horizontal opening for suspending and orienting the means for receiving the MOBILE or the GPS.

According to one embodiment, the two arms located on either side of the volume of the foot of the mirror attachment are adjacent and part of the counter force plate,

According to one embodiment, each of the caps is movable in translation on the fixed or mobile part on which the cap is fixed to be able to adapt to any type of MOBILE or GPS, whatever their dimensions.

According to one embodiment, a first end of the spring is secured to the fixed part,

a second end being connected to an adjustment piece, this adjustment piece comprising means for passing:

a fixed position in which this adjustment piece is integral with the movable part at - A free position in which the adjustment piece is movable in translation along the movable portion to increase the capacity of adaptation means for receiving the mobile.

Alternatively, the foot of the attachment to the windshield is constituted by a long arm fixed by its ball to the mirror on the upper edge 4 of the mirror, in the manner of Volkswagen. As a variant, a universal fastener 100 inserts a rearview mirror whose attachment to the windscreen is constituted by a short arm and a large diameter fixed by its patella to the rearview mirror on the upper edge 4 of the rearview mirror, in the manner of Mercedes. The fact that the spindle axis of the fastener, fixed on the upper edge of the mirror, being of a large diameter, does not interfere with the positioning of the two hook arms 2 and 3.

Figure 4 applies to a conventional fastener mirrors presented in the patent WO 2009/000987 A2 whose attachment to the windshield is centered on the back of the mirror. It is observed that the attachment to the mirror of the patent adapts well to the shape of the volume 1 constituted by the foot of the attachment to the windshield when a sufficient U-shaped notch 5 is made on the top edge of the counter plate. Force 7 (see Figures 3 and 4), sufficient space remaining under the fastener to the mirror to receive the counter force system, for example the screw or counter force screws to rest on the mirror.

For some mirrors, it is observed that some in the manner of Mercedes are very thick, having a strongly domed back. They are called electro-luminescent but include other functions such as so-called ceiling lighting. Alternatively, the plate 7 may be devoid of a counterforce system, the clip then simply being adjusted to the mirror with the arms 2 and 3.

The fastener 100 also comprises means 21 connected to the plate 7 to receive the MOBILE M or the GPS. These means 21 comprise a fixed part 21.1 connected to the plate 7, this fixed part 21.1 being provided with a 22. These means 21 also comprise a portion 21.2 adjustable in translation relative to the fixed portion 21.1. This adjustable portion 21.2 comprising a low cap 23. This adjustable portion 21.2 is connected to the fixed portion 21.1 by at least one spring 24 (two in Figure 4).

Each of the caps 22, 23 is movable in translation on the portion 21.1, 21.2 on which the cap is fixed to be able to adapt to any type of MOBILE or GPS, whatever their dimensions. For this purpose, the caps are each provided with at least one oblong system and screw referenced 25 in Figures 3 and 4.

According to one embodiment, a first end 24.1 of the spring 24 is secured to the fixed part 21.1. A second end 24.2 being connected to a sliding adjustment piece 27, this adjustment piece 27 comprising means for passing

a fixed (or locked) position in which this adjustment piece 27 is integral with the movable part 21.2 to

- A free position (or unlocked) in which the adjustment part 27 is disengaged from the movable part 21.2, so that the movable part 21.2 can slide in translation along the arrow D along the fixed part 21.1. For this purpose, the fixed part 21.1 has an elongated shape, for example parallelepiped, penetrating inside a hollow of the movable portion 21.2 of complementary shape, so that the movable portion 21.2 surrounds the fixed portion 21.1. The movable portion 21.2 can then slide along the fixed portion 21.1. The spring 24 is positioned inside a hollow of the fixed part 21.1. The end 24.1 of the spring 24 is fixed to the fixed portion 21.1 for example by means of a rod (not shown) extending perpendicularly to the elongation direction of the hollow of the fixed portion 21.1. This rod is fixed to two walls facing each other delimiting the hollow of the fixed portion 21.1. The other end of the spring 24 is integral with the fitting part 27. Such a system thus makes it possible to vary the spacing between the two caps 22, 23 when the spring 24 is at rest. Indeed, when the adjustment piece 27 is unlocked, the user can slide the movable portion 21.2 relative to the fixed portion 21.1 so as to vary the spacing between the caps 22, 23.

Once the spacing adapted to the phone is chosen (the adapted spacing is slightly smaller than the size of the GPS device), the user locks the adjustment piece 27 and discards the two caps 22, 23 one on the other hand by stretching the spring 24. Once the GPS device positioned between the caps 22, 23, the user releases the lower cap 23 which tends to get closer to the upper cap 22, so that the low cap 23 is pressed against a wall of the apparatus for immobilizing said apparatus between the caps 22, 23.

Alternatively, the spring 24 can of course be replaced by any other suitable elastic means.

In one embodiment, the fastener is preferably made of transparent ALTUGLAS or black piano or other colors.

In one embodiment, the clip comprises a solar battery positioned between the clip and the MOBILE M or the GPS (see FIG. 3), the clip 100 possibly being made of a transparent material for receiving the light. Alternatively, the battery 30 is fixed behind the clip. Alternatively, the battery 30 may be of a type other than a solar battery.

It is thus observed that the universal mirror attachment 100 of the present patent for MOBILES or GPS as the universal fastener of patent pending WO 2009/000987 A2 is designed to adapt to any rearview mirror, whatever its shape. , particular dimensions and the type of attachment to the windshield, these characteristics being differentiated frequently according to the marks. The attachment to the mirror 100 of this patent is universal. It advantageously completes the attachment to the rear view mirror of the patent filed No. WO 2009/000987.

It will be observed that the two fasteners to the rearview mirror of this patent and of the patent WO 2009/000987 comprise the same means of fixing the universal fastener of MOBILE or GPS, by means of a screw and oblong that the fastener door patent rearview mirror coat WO 2009/000987.

These fasteners which are alternately easily fixed on the most conventional mirrors described in the patent have the advantage of suspending indifferently the same universal MOBILE or GPS attachment of the patent filed No. FR 1051615.

According to a variant, as shown in FIGS. 5 to 7, the fastener 100 'according to the invention comprises at least one bar 30'. A first jaw 31 is attached to one of the upper ends of the bar 30 '. A second sliding jaw 32 along the bar is provided with a clamping handle 33 for bringing the second jaw 32 closer to the first jaw 31 when the handle 33 is actuated to secure the fastener to a rearview mirror R1. This second jaw 32 is also provided with a release trigger 34 to release the mirror R1. The means 21 for receiving a MOBILE M or GPS positioned at the other end of the bar are identical to those described above.

In the case where a single bar 30 'is used on the back of the mirror R1 on the side or along the foot of attachment to the windshield, the asymmetry and the weight of the fastener are compensated by the means of hanging from the attachment of MOBILE or GPS. The bar 35 may also have angles 37 or a single or double curvature to refocus the attachment of the mobile M or GPS to the symmetry axis A of the mirror (see Figure 6).

It is shown in FIG. 7 that the jaws 31, 32 are terminated by caps 40. In one embodiment, the bar 30 'may have a curved shape to adapt to the curvature of the back of the mirror R1.

The relative terms "high", "low", "fixed", "mobile" are understood by reference to a fastener hung around the mirror.

Claims

1. Universal fastener (100) of MOBILE (M) or GPS attached to a mirror (R1), the rear view mirror (R1) having in its back a fastening foot to the windshield with a ball head having a volume (1),

in that the plate (7) on the back of the rear-view mirror (R1) has downward one or more arms (5) hooked to fit at the bottom edge of the rear-view mirror (R1),

in that the plate (7) comprises means (21) for receiving a MOBILE or a GPS, these means (21) comprising:

a fixed part (21.1) connected to the plate (7), this fixed part (21.1) being provided with an upper cap (22),

an adjustable part (21.2) in translation relative to the fixed part (21.1), this adjustable part (21.2) comprising a low cap (23),

this adjustable part (21 .2) being connected to the fixed part (21.1) by at least one spring (24).
