Abstract

The invention relates to an arrangement for carrying out individual sample analysis and manipulation for Raman microspectroscopy and to a method for operating such an arrangement. The aim of the invention is to provide an arrangement for carrying out individual sample analysis and manipulation for Raman microspectroscopy, which requires no microscope and only one laser and enables lower power densities by comparison with the prior art. Said aim is achieved in that the arrangement comprises a planar substrate (1) into which a channel (11) for transporting samples and channels (12) containing optical fibres (4; 6) are introduced, wherein the channel (11) has an inlet (111) connected to sample supply means (81) and an outlet (112) connected to sample discharge means (9), and a laser trap (5) into which the fibres (4; 6) are optically coupled is disposed in the channel (11) between the inlet (111) and the outlet (112). The optical fibres (4) are at least two excitation and trapping fibres (41) and the optical fibres (6) are a plurality of collection fibres (61) which converge centrally on the laser trap (5), wherein an excitation and trapping fibre (41) is formed from an individual fibre, excitation and collection laser light can be simultaneously coupled into the laser trap (5) via the excitation and collection fibres (41), scattered light can be coupled out of the laser trap (5) via the collection fibres (61), individual samples can be generated by the means (81), the individual samples can be sorted by the means (9), and the collection fibres (61) open into a Raman spectrometer (7) and the excitation and collection fibres (41) open into a laser (2) with a beam splitter (3), wherein unfocussed laser beams can be generated by the laser (2).
