Abstract

The invention comprises a feed head (5) that has an upper opening (201) for receiving tablets (T1-T4) and is bounded by a fall slot (21a). In addition, a separating unit (3) is provided below the feed head (2). The separating unit comprises an upper plate (33) that has vertically continuously shaped openings (333a-333e; 333f-333i) having cross-sections matched to the tablet shapes and a lower plate (31) that has drop-in recesses (314a-314h; 314k-314n) having depths matched to the tablet shapes and being laterally open to an upper and outer surface. The plates are adjustable in such a way that the combination of shaped opening (333a) and drop-in recess (314d) matching the dimensions of the tablets lie one above the other in the rest position (figure 5a) and form a common cavity, into which an individual tablet (T3) is able to slide via the fall slot (21a). Furthermore, an operable slide member (32) is provided, by means of which the fall slot (21a) is closed toward the feed head (2) for the transition from the rest position (figure 5a) into the active position (figure 5b), and the individual tablet (T3) is ejected laterally from the cavity and subsequently falls out downwards. The advantage of the invention is that tablets of different dimensions can be separated by selecting and adjusting a corresponding pair of shaped opening and drop-in recess. The tablet separating device is thus versatile in use and can easily be adapted to different tablet shapes.
