Abstract

The invention relates to a device for illuminating tissue, including an insertion catheter (6) inside of which a light diffuser can be arranged, which essentially consists of an optical fibre (3) comprising a diffusing distal end, the distal end (8) of the insertion catheter (6) consisting of a transparent or optically diffusing material; characterised in that the insertion catheter (6) is surrounded by an outer tube (10) which is mounted such as to slide along the insertion catheter (6). The invention also relates to a winder for a light diffuser as well as to various uses of the aforementioned device.
