Description

Extension for increasing of the upper limit of application of polyurethan foam from a dose
Background of the Invention
The invention concerns the application of polyurethan assembly and isolation foam from standard doses.
State of the art
Nowdays the foam is applied into gaps and openings either from one-use dose with a swinging controller with connection socket or with metallic application guns with replaceable doses
The main condition for use of the system is to keep the dose with the valve down. In case not doing so or if the dose is only inclined, driving gas escapes from the dose depending on actual amount of the foam in the dose. It is practically impossible, even with a full dose, to applicate the foam e.g into gaps close to the ceiling.
Nowadays used extensions have an avarage lenght of about 20 cm and the direction of working angle in case of using guns is usually perpendicular to the axis of the dose. In case a solid barrier, for example a ceiling, the system is unfunctional.
Document CZ 27346 U1 describes an extension for increasing of the upper limit of application of polyurethan foam from a dose comprising a connection socket connected with a swinging controller where on the connection socket a lower bending is connected, on which a tube prolongation is connected, on which an upper bending is connected and on it an application ending is connected.
In practise this is practically imposible for mass production to insert knees or similar transition pieces between the individual sections and bending of plastic tubes is very problematic. Plastic tubes have very limited shapeability and heating is also very complicated.
The aim of the invention is to present an extension, which enables the application of polyurethan foam completely up to the ceiling which can ensure good and variable shapeability for the extention and safety connection of the extention tube to the connection socket of the swinging controller.
Summary of the invention
The above mentioned drawbacks are eliminated by the extension for increasing of the upper limit of application of polyurethan foam from a dose according to this invention, which principles consists especially in that the extension is provided inside with a freely arranged wire for its shaping, the wire is anchored on the outlet device of the medium, and the connection socket is provided with at least one hole and simultaneously there is a hook in the end of the wire, diameter of which is smaller then the diameter of the hole for inserting of the hook into the connection socket and both over the wire and over the connection socket the tube is pulled over up to the foot of the connection socket.
In an advantageous embodiment the hole is carried out on the connection socket on its lower surface, diverted from the arm of the swingable controller.
In another advantageous embodiment the end of the tube, where there is no wire, a clutching clamp is installed.
In another advantageous embodiment the clutching clamp is created as a plastic clutching clamp, steel clutch or a steel wire.
In another advantageous embodiment the connection socket is provided with at least two ring-shaped ribs created in a distance from each other, which have greater diameter then is the diameter of the connection socket and the clutching clamp is positioned between two neighbouring ribs.
In another advantageous embodiment the connection socket is created as an outlet tube of an application gun or as its end extension having the hole.
In another advantageous embodiment the extension is provided by a stabilization arm, which has a tube extension sleeve, which is brought through the extension and the tube sleeve, which is put on outlet tube of the gun, this tube sleeve is provided by a screw for ensurement of the position of the stabilization arm on the outlet tube.
Description of the drawings
The invention will be explained by use of drawings, where Fig.1 is the view on the application of PU foam with the tube extension according to the common state of the art, Fig. 2 is the schematical view on the application of PU foam with the shapeable tube extension according to the invention with in the tube freely arranged wire but without any specific fastening manner of the wire on the connection socket of the swingable controller, Fig. 3 is again the schematical view on the application of PU foam with the shapeable tube extension according to the invention with in the tube freely arranged wire but with a specific fastening manner when the wire is laid on the connection socket of the swingable controller and covered by the tube, Fig. 4 is the view on parts of the tube extension according to the invention before assembling, so there is a perspective view on the swingable controller with the connection socket and in schematical cross-section there is the tube and the wire, Fig. 5 is a basic embodiment of the advantageous asssembly of the tube, wire and swinging controller in the schematical cross-section, Fig. 6 is a reinforced embodiment of the advantageous assembly of the tube, wire and swinging controller in the schematical cross-section, Fig. 7 is a basic embodiment of the advantageous asssembly of the tube, wire and foam gun applicator in schematical cross-section according to the invention, Fig.8 is a reinforced embodiment of the advantageous asssembly of the tube, wire and foam gun applicator in the schematical cross-section according to the invention, Fig 9 is a view on tube extension fixed on the foam gun applicator with the stabilization holder.
Preferred embodiments of the invention
In Fig. 1 application of PU foam with a tube extention 1 according to the state of the art is presented. It concerns the application of the foam into the free space between the ceiling and a vertical wall. The tube extension 1 , which can solve this problem consists of a swinging controller 4 provided with a connection socket 3 and in front of the connection socket 3 a lower bending 6 is arranged, on which a tube prolongation 7 is connected, which ends by an upper bending 8 and on that upper bending 8 an application ending 9 is connected. For stability reasons of the extension 1 and not falling away from the dose 2, this dose 2 can be provided with a support ring 12 which is provided with a support opening, through which tube prolongation 6 protrudes.
As mentioned above it is very uneasy to form plastic tubes into permanent shapes. The shaping of the tube according to the invention is illustrated in Fig.2. There is the schematical view on the application of PL! foam with the shapeable tube extension 1 with in the tube 11 freely arranged wire 10 but without any specific fastening manner of the wire 10 on the connection socket 3 of the swingable controller 4. The wire 10 keeps the shape and ensures the passage of the liquid also in case of collapsing of the walls of the extension 1. The bendings 6 a 8 are gradual to ensure the walls of the extension 1 are not collapsing. In the preferred embodiment the wire 10 is adjacent to the wall of extension 1 so they create one piece .The upper bending 7 is kept by the dose 2 e.g. by a rubber strip 12 or simply by hand.
It was found during the tests that the completely free arranged wire 10 inside in the tube 11 was forced out of the tubel 1 because of pressure of liquid even though there is some resistance in the bendings 5 and 7. In another attempt, the end of the wire 10 was laid onto the connection socket 3 and both over the wire 10 and over the connection socket 3 the tube 11 was pulled over.
Such embodiment can be seen in Fig.3 but even this fastening was not able to resist the pressure of liquid and the wire 10 has slipped from the connection socket 3, though after longer time.
This problem was solved by the tube extenrion 1 according to the invention in such a way, that the connection socket 3 is provided by an opening 13 and simultaneously the wire 10 is provided by a hook 14. The diameter of the hole 13 is only a little bit greater then the diameter of the hook 14 so there is only a small play, !n Fig.4 there are parts of the tube extension 1 before assembling - the controller 4 wirh arms 4' a 4" in perspective view and in schematical cross-section shown tube 11 and the wire 10 with the hook 14. In Fig. 5 we can see the assembly afterwards the hook 14 was inserted into the hole 13 and both over the wire 10 and over the connection socket 3 the end of the tube 11 was pulled over up to the foot 17 of the connection socket 3. The hole 13 can be placed anywhere on the connection socket 3, nevertheless here is illustrated the advantageous embodiment, where the hole 13 is made on the connection socket 3 on its lower surface, diverted from the arm 4" of the swingab!e controller 4.
Due to this, the problem of the unwanted movement of the wire was solved, nevertheless the pressure of liquid caused its reverse movement and the liquid was forced out from the end of the tube 11 at the foot 17 of the connection socket 3.
This problem was solved by the messure depicted in Fig. 6. On the end of the tube 11, where there is no wire 10, a clutching clamp 5 is installed and it avoids the unwanted outflow of the liquid from the end of the tube 11. The best tightness is achieved, when the connection socket 3 is provided by at least two ring-shaped ribs 16 created in a distance from each other, which have a little bit greater diameter then is the diameter of the connection socket 3. Then the clutching clamp 15 is positioned between two neighbouring ribs 16, as it is shown in Fig.6. These ribs 16 create a subsequent barrier against the unwanted reverse flow of the liquid 15 and secure the defined position of the clutch 15.
It is obvious that the analogical fastening of the tube 11 with wire 10 is possible onto the outlet tube 18 of an application gun 19, which is shown on Fig 7. Because there is no hole for the hook in the basic embodiment of the outlet tube 18, supplementary clutches 20 can be used on appropriate places.
It is also possible to supply the users with an end extension 21 for the outlet tube 18 as it is shown in Fig.8, where there is the hole 13 for the hook 14 the wire 10 should be inserted. In such a case, the clutching clamp 15 is sufficient for safety tightness. In such a case the packaging of the gun 19 can involve replaceable usual end extension and amended end extension 21 with the hole 13. If there is an common agreement about the diameter of the outlet tube 18 and about its ending thread, then the end extention 21 could be a part of the tube extention 1 packaging. Because the majority of guns 19 has inside of the outlet tube 18 a closing member 26, which closes the outlet nozzle 27, it is possible to provide the outlet tube 18 with the opening 13 and this is blinded with a detachable blinder 28 - this is depicted in Fig. 8a. The user uses the gun 19 with the blinder 28 in an usual manner and when he decides to use the extension 1 , he removes the blinder 28 and inserts the hook 14 of the wire 10 into the hole 13. Afterwards he ends the work, the extension 1 is removed and the hole 13 is blinded again.
To secure the stability of tube extension 1 during the application of the foam from the gun 19, the extension 1 is provided by a stabilization arm 23, which has a tube extension sleeve 22, which is brought through the extension 1 and the tube sleeve 24, which is put on outlet tube 18 of the gun 19. This tube sleeve 24 is provided by a screw 25 which ensures the position of the stabilization arm 23. This is on Fig.9.
The extention 1 according to the invention can be also succesfully applied on more complex applicators devices as published e.g. in documents US 7,000,805 or WO201 /15 295 which also ends with the connection socket 3 of the known shape.
