Description

DENTAL WET SANDBLASTING MACHINE
Technical Field
This patent application has been filed as an additional patent application to the patent application numbered 2015/11216 which has been filed on 04.09.2015.
The invention is related to blasting of dental prosthesis jaw metals.
Prior Art
The blasting process of prosthesis and implant metals is known as burnout blasting in the sector, the production of said metals are carried out by melting metal alloys that has been prepared in a cast and by pouring said alloys into a mould; following this process the cleaning of the mould scraps that are burnt and hardened and the cast residues formed on the cast can only be performed by blasting. The known technique is limited to pneumatic machines; these machines operate with compressors having average 40kw power, which provide continuous air flow and as they are lightweight for abrasive blasting materials, they only operate with aluminium oxide sand, and as the abrasive material, metal and intensive plaster dust cannot be prevented during pneumatic blasting, and therefore employees frequently suffer from cancer, silicosis, lung and respiratory tract diseases.
Another known application is based on the principle blasting with an external hose following the projection of air and sand from the nozzle. In this application if the sand is not dampened at the desired level, the dust emission cannot be prevented. Together with this, water and sand that is blasted, is accumulated inside the accumulation tank following sand blasting and the sand is completely dampened herein. It is mandatory for the sand that is dampened inside the body to be dried in a short period of time to be reused. If the sand cannot be dried sufficiently, the air pressure that is used, cannot sufficiently vacuum the sand that has gained weight as it is wet.
Another known application is based on carrying out blasting with sand and water, from the nozzle by transmitting the air pressure transferred to the tank via a high capacity compressor to the nozzle, wherein said sand and water is trapped inside a pressurized tank. Air is not sufficient in long term usages in this application and a break needs to be given to the sandblasting process. Moreover the consumed material needs to be recollected and transferred back into the tank.
In another known application, sandblasting hose is attached to the nozzle which is attached at the end of the washing gun that is connected to a mobile pressurized water pump thereby said application being based on suction being carried out on the sand and sandblasting being carried out with the sand that is dampened with water.
Some problems are faced during said application.
First of all, in this application the part that needs to be sandblasted needs to be fixed and the sandblasting process of the part is carried out manually by turning around the part with a wash gun. Again in this application the sand and water that is used cannot be recycled.
As the parts to be sandblasted in the dental sector are small and asymmetrical, the above mentioned applications have not been able to provide the desired results. For this reason the need to develop a new sandblasting machine directed to sandblasting of small and asymmetrical parts within the dental sector has risen. Brief Description of the Invention and its Aims
The aim of this invention is to provide a sandblasting machine which enables to sandblast small and asymmetrical parts used in the dental sector.
Another aim of this invention is to provide a sandblasting machine which performs sandblasting by projecting the sand inside the wet sandblasting nozzle via only water pressure and by means of completely dampening said sand.
Another aim of the invention is to provide a sandblasting machine where the dental parts that are to be sandblasted are moved inside the sandblasting pot. Another aim of the invention is to provide a sandblasting machine which enables to re-use the sand and water by recycling said sand and water.
Another aim of this invention is to provide a sandblasting machine which can operate in a closed environment with zero dust output, noiselessly.
The sandblasting machine provided in order to reach the aim of this invention comprises;
An electric engine which drives the water jet pump,
A water jet pump which receives the water from the water inlet, by means of the motion it receives from the electric engine and transfers the water, via the water outlet to the wet sandblasting nozzle in a pressurized manner, A wet sandblasting nozzle which vacuums the abrasive material located inside the sand pool and projects it to the sandblasting pot, following mixing thereof with water, wherein said abrasive material is vacuumed from sand inlet that is located on the pot, by means of the low pressure formed inside the cavity within the body, while the pressurized water received from the water jet pump is discharged from the water outlet nozzle, and
A sandblasting pot which contains the parts to be sandblasted which enables to sandblast the parts in the pot while the pot is rotated by means of the motion received from the engine.
Detailed Description of the Invention

The sandblasting machine subject to the invention comprises an electric engine (1) which drives the water jet pump. The sandblasting machine subject to the invention comprises a water jet pump (2) which receives water via the water outlet (4) from the water inlet (3) by means of the motion it receives from the electric engine (1) and transfers the pressurized water to the wet sandblasting nozzle (6).
The sandblasting machine subject to the invention comprises a wet sandblasting nozzle (6) which projects the abrasive material to the sandblasting pot (11) after vacuuming the material by means of the low pressure formed inside the cavity of the body, from the sand inlet (8) located on the pot and mixing it with water, where said material is located inside the sand pot (10), while the pressurized water received from the water jet pump (2) is discharged from the water outlet nozzle (7).

The water that enters the water jet pump (2) which is driven by the electric engine (1), from the water inlet (3), is then discharged from the water outlet (4) of the water jet pump at the desired litre amount, bar and pressure, preferably between 100-150bars, is transferred using the pressurized water hose (5) to the wet sandblasting nozzle (6). The water that located inside the wet sandblasting nozzle (6) body that is discharged from the water outlet nozzle (7) thereof, having a diameter range preferably between 0,5-0,9mm forms a vacuum inside the wet sandblasting nozzle (6) and vacuums the abrasive material in the sand pool (10) from the sand inlet (8), using a sand hose (9). The abrasive material that has been vacuumed, is mixed with water inside the wet sandblasting nozzle (6) body and is rapidly projected to the sandblasting pot (11), the sandblasting pot (11) rotates preferably 10 times per minute by means of a 12v electric engine (12) and enables to clean by sandblasting every part of the prosthesis metals by toppling over the dental prosthesis metals freely inside the pot.
The sandblasting pot (11) is a container which has an opening facing the wet sandblasting nozzle (6) and where the other sides are closed. The sandblasting pot (11) has been positioned at an angle of 0-90° towards the direction of spraying of the wet sandblasting nozzle (6), and preferably positioned at an angle of 45°. Levels with various lengths that may project towards the center of the sandblasting pot (11) may be provided (such as those provided inside a washing machine).
As the sandblasting pot (11) has these levels, and it is positioned at an angle and as the sandblasting pot (11) is rotated by means of a sandblasting pot engine (12), it is enabled that all parts that are to be sandblasted inside the sandblasting pot (11) are sandblasted homogenously and that the parts are exposed completely to the water and sand, sprayed by the wet sandblasting nozzle (6). Various numbers of holes can be provided around the sandblasting pot (11). The water and sand that is discharged from these holes, is collected inside the collection tank which is located around the sandblasting pot (11) and said sand and water is separated through the filters located inside the collection tank, and the water can be re-directed to the water inlet (3) and the sand is transferred to the sand pool (10). Therefore it is enabled for the materials that have been used to be recycled.
Projection towards the inside at the edges of the sandblasting pot (11) facing the wet sandblasting nozzle (6) has been provided. These projections shall prevent the discharging of the parts to be sandblasted inside the sandblasting pot (11) during operation. Again due to a similar aim, the discharging of the parts to be sandblasted during operation is prevented by closing the section of the sandblasting pot (11) facing the wet sandblasting nozzle (6) with a cage like assembly.
