[57] ABSTRACT
A zinc silicate phosphor represented by the formula:
(Znw.2„, M«r, Naa^SiCkMn., As„, Mc . (I)
where M11 is at least one element selected from the group consisting of barium, calcium and strontium, M is at least one of antimony and bismuth, and x, y, a, b and c satisfy the conditions of O=xS5xl0-2, OS 2y^5xl0-3, 5xlO-5§aS3XlO-2, O^b^5xl0-3 and 0<c3= 1X 10-2, respectively (provided x+2y^=0).
