Restaurante Bar Playa

We love this place! The owner went out of his way to meet our needs, including making just a glass of sangria, since a half liter would have been too much. And the sangria was wonderful!
We've tried many of the tapas, since we've stopped there so frequently, and have loved them all.
The prices are so reasonable, the service is excellent, they serve Alhambra beer and it's right on the beach. Who could want more?

This place is OK. Not great and not horrible. I got the fried cuttlefish, my husband got the fried baby squid, and my daughter got a burger. All of the food was again just okay not the best we've ever had but not the worst.

The Good:
Location- It is right on the beach!
Sangria- The sangria was very good and the pitcher it came in was very large!
Menu- They have a menu in English, Spanish, and German

The Bad:
Cleanliness- The restaurant interior was not very cleanly as a whole. We sat at a table next to the windows overlooking the beach and the windows were very dirty. If you're going to have a restaurant in a prime location overlooking such a beautiful beach the least they could do is clean the windows for good for view.
Food- The cuttlefish and the squid were mediocre, my daughter however did not like her burger at all... and she always loves burgers.

All in all it's not the worst place to eat but I don't think we'll be going there again anytime soon. Maybe once the summer comes they will put a little more TLC into the place and we will give it another try.

If I could give less than one star I would. First, the indoors is filthy! Decorations are dusty, floor sticky, tables & chairs desperate for repair & soap. The outside, well it's not much better but the recent rain has been keeping the patio clean. Now let's talk good & drink. Ordered a piña colada, & I'm quite certain it came minus the alcohol. The 7up I ordered for my daughter had dust inch thick on top of can. We chose to order food...garlic shrimp & the grilled swordfish. Neither dish came to the table hot. The bowl of microwaved frozen shrimp still had melted plastic on the inside. The swordfish was microwaved also & was so rubbery the fork stuck straight up in it. The frozen microwaved veggies were way overdone. So the 3 bites we had chocked down nearly came back up when I was told "sorry about your luck" from the waiter who then handed me the 31.50euro bill. Of course I paid it...but the pen is mightier than the sword. Do yourself a favor & find somewhere else to eat. If Rota had a public health department I'd be stopping there tomorrow to lodge a complaint!
