Mary-Louise Parker honored at LGBT Community Center event

Mary-Louise Parker was honored on Thursday at a benefit event for the LGBT Community Center that raised more than $1 million in front of a crowd including Whoopi Goldberg, Michael Stipe and Billy Eichner.

And though Parker’s straight off-screen, “The lesbians claim whatever part of her we can get a hold of,” gay actress Cynthia Nixon said at Cipriani Wall Street — listing off the “Weeds” star’s roles in movies like “Fried Green Tomatoes” and “Boys on the Side” and onstage for playwrights Tony Kushner and Craig Lucas.

Nixon ended, “Look, Joan Crawford, you’re fantastic. Bette Davis, you rock. Liza Minnelli, you’re the bomb. Diana Ross, there are no words. But ladies, you better be finding an empty throne in your heavenly realm for the woman I’m about to introduce.”
