Women's Tennis Heads to ITA South Central Regional

NET POINTS

•    St. Mary's will compete in the ITA South Central Regional beginning on Thursday. The Rattlers are the defending champions in all four brackets. Ashley Penshorn won the main draw of singles and paired with senior Kyndall Quiroz for the doubles title. Bailey Godwin won the B singles draw. Senior Elena Munoz and junior Elisa Rodriguez won the doubles B draw.

•    The Rattlers love the Arlington Tennis Center, winning the last two Lone Star Conference Championships there, as well as sweeping all four titles at the 2022 ITA South Central Regional Championship.

•    Freshman Selina Wu is seeded ninth in the singles draw, while senior Kyndall Quiroz earned the 15th seed. Bailey Godwin, Callah Preti and Alessia Terlizzi are unseeded in the main bracket. There are no Rattlers in the B draw. Preti and Terlizzi will pair for doubles, as will Godwin and Wu and both pairs are unseeded in the main draw. 

•    Selina Wu leads the Rattlers with seven singles victories and nine doubles wins through three fall tournaments. Wu is 9-0 in doubles playing with four different partners. She and Kyndall Quiroz are 4-0 thus far.

•    The Rattlers return seven letterwinners off last season's NCAA Round of 16 team, including Lone Star Conference Tournament MVP Kyndall Quiroz and LSC All-Tournament and All-Conference selection Stela Sifuentes.
