Memphis - It was a gorgeous day Saturday as Rhodes women's track and field had 17 athletes total 27 personal records. The Lynx hosted their annual Rhodes 7-Way meet and placed second with 122.5 points, the highest ranking NCAA Division III team at the meet. D-II Harding won the meet with 374 points while D-II Christian Brothers University posted 97 points for third place.
Mary Nusloch won the 800m run in 2:22.69 while
Palmer Mihalevich and
Maryella Cohn also scored in the top-five.
Sam Withers won the Steeplechase and Rhodes' 4x100 team of
Grace Scowden,
Maddie Chandler,
Isabel Farnsworth and
Alli Cundiff placed second. After the relay, Cundiff then left for Conway, Ark. to compete against Hendrix in women's soccer.
First year
Kendra Payne placed second in the pole vault with a vault of 10' 8", which she achieved on her first attempt at that height. In the javelin, Avery Comish placed fifth with a throw of 27.80 meters.
Chandler won both the long jump (5.35m) and the triple jump (11.58m), where she hit 38', a new Rhodes women's triple jump record. The mark is also seventh longest in all of NCAA Division III.Â
