Used to be fantastic now not so

Used to be fantastic. Now need to pay to post more than 10 mixes - this i can understand. But with Pro/creator fee you are limited in how you can listen to mixes. You used to be able to flick forward through a mix, this has been taken away. So for £70 a year you can not even flick forward in a mix.
Also customer service did not read my query and gave a generic reply that completely did not answer my question.
Very disappointed and many reasons to leave the platform for a well known other

Dreadful customer support

Dreadful customer support. 7 times my upload has been deleted with no explanation as to why, email sent to support and received nothing. No way of actually talking to anyone on the phone, there is no chat facility either. Very quick to take your money for Pro but support after that is crap. Be my last year with this awful company.

Made business changes & gave up their crown to whoever's next

Pretty terrible now, after being a very worthwhile alternative to Soundcloud. Recently introduced capped amount of uploads for a set monthly fee (rather than, say, a more reasonable 'pay as you go' for low-frequency uploaders) & blocks mixes with the same artist featured too much.
Someone else will now come along & sink these guys, as goes the routine of the internet.

Sorry to see you're unhappy with some of the changes made to Mixcloud. Please note that all of these were made to ensure that Mixcloud continued into the future in a sustainable, legal and fair way.

As explained in our post last year (https://www.mixcloud.com/mixcloud/posts/why-were-making-changes-to-the-basic-tier/), as we continue to rapidly grow our royalty and hosting costs have risen and we are not profitable. To continue running and improving Mixcloud we need to become more sustainable as a business and Pro memberships help us cover our costs. Without these changes there would be no Mixcloud to host all of your shows without concerns about copyright and with the artists whose tracks you play getting paid.

The update to the platform in the last week is in fact connected to our legal obligations to ensure that we are compliant with SRPC regulations, which is a stipulation of the licensing agreements we have to make sure royalties are paid. While this has been a part of our Terms of Use for many years, we have recently found there were some shows that did not have the correct restrictions enforced and so moved to correct this. These changes are all made with the aim of ensuring that our platform, built to be a legal way of sharing shows and tracks, continues.

OK as long as you dont use it on your mobile phone

I use Mixcloud to listen to the occasional live DJ show.

On a computer or laptop its great, flawless even, but on my mobile phone its unusable, the stream constantly cuts out. THis happens when using my 5G data or connected to WiFi

This issue is nothing to do with my phone or data speed, as others have said the same thing on chats etc and I can stream a live youtube or rumble video perfectly for an hour without a single cut out.

It's now been five months and they…

It's now been five months and they continue to not fix the problem that is keeping me from uploading shows. What's the purpose of using this platform to upload shows if they don't fix it when you can't upload shows?

Their customer service is garbage and the app is broken 99% of the time

Total car crash train wreck.

Total car crash train wreck of an app. Does anything work on this,the Bluetooth is horrendous especially in car if you get a call it won't start playing again without closing down the app, which is pretty difficult when driving Bluetooth headphones connect sometimes , always crashes and some of the John digweed premium membership I subscribe to has terrible quality. No issues with Spotify or SoundCloud. Qué the excuse about it being in beta.Chromecast to Nvidia shield doesn't work either.

Hi Scott.

We're currently reworking our mobile app player so that problems with Bluetooth connection etc are a thing of the past. This will take a bit of time to come through but we hope that you won't be seeing these problems in the future.
Regarding quality of shows, this is not something we as a platform have control over as the quality is determined by the creator when they upload the show to Mixcloud.

Artists not uploading and terrible customer service.

Decent idea but the DJ I joined to follow wasn't uploading enough new content so I cancelled. Upon cancelling my access was immediately revoked despite the fact that I had paid for the full month and there was another 3 weeks remaining. I emailed their support raising this issue and have had no reply 3 weeks later.
Don't bother!

I can still recall the old days when we…

I can still recall the old days when we used to upload our mixes and stuff, but the way they handled their service to monetise and get subscriptions, killed the whole vibe. Now it is still a great place to upload podcasts or dj sets, but come one, who wants to pay a subscription to be able to click back on a specific timeline to hear again the podcast? I mean, there are tons of "freeware" services with tons of features....

Hi there. Sorry to see that you're unhappy with the listening restrictions for free users. These were implemented due to regulations set on us by the music industry (as can be seen in the open letter from us in 2019 https://medium.com/mixcloud/moving-toward-a-fair-and-sustainable-streaming-model-for-artists-99050561a069).

We've been working hard to renegotiate these restrictions and you'll find updates coming through very soon that will change the free listening experience for the better.

The Mixcloud App is itself OK

Terrible. The Mixcloud App is itself OK, but avoid Mixcloud Select at all costs. Amongst the'benefit' of Mixcloud Select are the ability to listen to shows offline and being able to access the track list of songs played. The track lists are incomplete to say the least, but the offline option is seriously useless. When you download shows, they're often unplayable offline, and you have to re-load them online. (And that's not even a guarantee they'll work). AVOID MIXCLOUS SELECT. (Their 'support' department is also useless).

It's a great platform

It's a great platform, excellent support. I would just work on improving the search engine and making it more advanced and customizable. I sometimes have to revert to Google to find specific sets, since the MC search engine seems to struggle with concrete searches and non -letter characters, such as hyphens.

Quick and friendly response

Quick and friendly response from support.

I reported a bug / problem could not be solved, but the communication with the supporter was good, fast responding and friendly.
Major problem solved now.
So i would rate 2 things:
Support communication was very good.
Fixing the problems needed more time and caused neg. effects. That was not so cool, but fixed now.

Mixcloud Support are Brilliant!

Mixcloud Support are brilliant, always there to help, nothing is too much trouble & problems are resolved quickly & efficiently every time. Fantastic service for a fantastic broadcast facility. Highly recommended to broadcasters and listeners alike. They are simply the best👍👍👍 Thank you, and special thanks to Stephen who excels every time! 10/10!

I am cancelling the pro

I am cancelling the pro. I am tired of them restarting my broadcast after I build up my views. Everytime I build my views my broadcast goes down and restart only on Mixcloud. I am streaming on 8 different platforms via obs and restream and I always notice when the Mixcloud restart my Twitch, YouTube, Facebook and other platforms are not interupted.. only Mixcloud restart and stall repeatedly and clear my views. I am cancelling it.

I can't cancel my subscription

I paid for a month's subscription and forgot about it I now have had 3 or more payments come out of my bank and I can't cancel I even rang my bank about it and they say they will try and cancel it there end and as mixcloud has my details they may still take the money from my account. I have followed everything it says on mixcloud page it doesn't work so if they end up taking another payment I will have to block my card and get a new one. Don't sign up they make it so hard to cancel

Absolutely terrible user experience.

1. Absolutely buggy: some features don't load when app is opened. Takes a couple of restarts
2. Cannot handle the interruptions of internet connection
3. Loses track of where you were in a set when app gets automatically closed
4. Search engine is terrible: you basically need to type the exact name of the set

Tragic. RIP Mixcloud

Tragic.. Mixcloud is dead. From withholding previously earned fees from subs before the site changes to the ridiculous lack of promotion for smaller and/or legacy users to the general and gross over-all greed... I have no choice but to delete my account and just move on. What an embarrassing waste of a great IP

Sorry to see you are unhappy with some of the changes made to the platform recently. To clarify we do not withhold earnings, however there are times where a user has not hit the threshold for receiving those earnings. This can be talked through with our Support Team if needed.

Regarding promotion of smaller users, we offer a variety of features to help with the promotion of all users and we continue to look for ways to help smaller creators in promoting their content

Excellent quality site and whenever…

Excellent quality site. Terrific music easy to use, and whenever I’ve had black list problems Stephen at support helps prompt usually and I have proplems with not being able to delete my comments I make on a a set at the moment everything still works the same press the three dots a pop up from the bottom shows a delete and bin it used to delete my messages instantly now it doesn’t delete any comments I make. Please help with this if you can as it can be embarrassing with spelling or wanting to delete the comment altogether I can’t it’s there forever. User name gavmillar
