Wokingham Hospital hosted a drop-in event to mark Mental Health Awareness Week.

Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust (BHFT) governors Mavis Henley and Gary Stevens visited the hospital in Barkham Road, along with Ronald Mason from Rethink Mental Illness to talk to patients and visitors.

The event was held in line with Mental Health Awareness Week ran until Sunday, May 27.

This year’s theme was Doing Good Does You Good as research shows carrying out an act of kindness improves your mental health.

Julian Emms, chief executive of BHFT, said: “Mental Health Awareness Week is an ideal opportunity to meet the public and explain how taking care of your mental health really pays off for the individual and society.”
