As a global leader in biological technologies, Syngenta is looking to increase pipeline discovery for novel microalgae strains and suppliers. The biodiversity and broad applications for microalgae products make microalgae a promising platform to explore. Do you have access to microalgae strains, extracts, or byproducts samples, or innovative microalgal cultivation technologies that could have potential for application in agriculture? If so, we would love to hear from you. 👉 https://lnkd.in/gys2VA-a #ShootsbySyngenta #Biologicals #Innovation Jonathan Brown. BSc MBA, Jérôme Cassayre, Zaida María Andrés González, Camilla Corsi

Have you ever wondered about fungal diseases and how these impact global food supply? 🌍 Worldwide, farmers lose as much as 23% of their crops to fungal diseases each year. In the top five most important calorie crops – rice, wheat, corn, soybeans and potatoes – fungal infections have been estimated to cause yield losses that could feed at least 600 million people every day for a year. That’s why innovation in fungicides is so important. As a third-generation SDHI fungicide, ADEPIDYN® technology underscores our innovation leadership in fungicides. It effectively fights fusarium head blight in wheat, which produces mycotoxins that contaminate harvests and threaten human and animal health. In addition, it offers a step-change in performance against a wide spectrum of other key crop diseases. We’re proud that our ADEPIDYN® technology is now present in Great Britain, as well as in more than 55 other countries around the world, protecting over 100 crops. 🌱 Learn more about ADEPIDYN® technology and its role in our efforts to secure high yields with low impact to the planet here: https://lnkd.in/dFBv3W6H #CropProtection #SustainableAgriculture

We've just rolled out a new project aimed at swapping heavy diesel trucks with ethanol-powered utility vehicles for loading and transporting seeds. This move is not only aligned with our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but also with our operational excellence goals. 💡 In just the first ten days of implementation, we've already reduced greenhouse gas dispersion by 8.5 tons of CO2, which is equivalent to planting 60 trees! Initially located at our Matão, Uberlândia and Formosa sites, these vehicles will serve the entirety of the Brazilian territory where Syngenta Seeds operates. Equipped with speed limiters and prioritizing driver safety, these SUVs represent a leap forward in sustainable transportation. 🌳 #SyngentaSeeds #Sustainability #Logistics

When it comes to innovation in R&D, diversity drives our approach. Jason Allerding, Global Head of Sustainability, Health, Safety, and Risk Management at Syngenta Seeds, spoke about the importance of blending innovation with tradition to Seed World Europe for their article on regenerative agriculture. 🌱 ✨ As a data-science-driven business, we're dedicated to enhancing every aspect of our processes for speed, precision, and power – but there's no one-size-fits-all solution. From amplifying seed germplasm performance, to introducing pioneering biological techniques like seed treatments with biostimulants, we're revolutionizing agriculture to benefit farmers, consumers, and our planet. Agriculture is in the middle of a strategic shift to solve its biggest challenges, which means the food systems that help nourish the world also hold the potential to improve it. In 2013, we pioneered sustainability in our industry with the Good Growth Plan. Today, we're accelerating our efforts, embedding sustainability even deeper into our business strategy. This will guide our innovations and bring a new layer of transparency to our operations across our business units. From enhancing climate resilience to enabling regenerative farming practices, we're passionate about creating a resilient future of farming that benefits farmers, consumers, and the Earth. We've set four sustainability priorities, each with clear targets to drive positive change in agriculture. Swipe through to find out more about each. 👇 #Agriculture #Sustainability #SyngentaSustainability

Malaria is one of the biggest threats to global health, resulting in over 600,00 deaths in 2022. Despite young children and pregnant women being the most vulnerable, progress to curb the disease is stalling. Controlling the insects that transmit malaria is at the heart of the solution, but mosquitos are becoming resistant to current insecticides. Our innovative new insecticide Sovrenta®, a brand new solution based on PLINAZOLIN® technology, will build a partnership with Actellic® for the long-term management of malaria-transmitting mosquitoes. Actellic® has been playing a key role in malaria control for the last decade and continues to protect millions of people each year. Swipe to see the ways in which we’re continuing to work towards a malaria-free world. #EndMalaria #WMD2024 #Innovation #WorldMalariaDay
