What an impressive event. Congrats to all 45+ participating start-ups from leading European universities and especially to the winners of this year’s Stage Two: - IonKraft from RWTH Aachen for winning the Stage Two Innovation Award; and - GEMESYS from Ruhr University Bochum for winning the Stage Two Movement Award. Further investment awards went to startups from seven leading universities in five European countries. Thumbs up also to the amazing Stage Two team around Malte Brettel from RWTH Innovation and Stephan Stubner from HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management, to Lukas Ellmann, Fabian Degenhardt, Jona Hesse, Maurice Steinhoff, Dan Ram and everyone else involved. As the largest pan-European competition for the best startups spinning out of leading universities, Stage Two has proven the strength of the European tech ecosystem and highlighted the prominent role of the universities and their entrepreneurship centers. It has been an honor for us to support the virtual pre-events, the Finals in Berlin as well as the follow-on workshop at Bertelsmann. #startups #founders #entrepreneurship #investors #venture #TeamOrrick

Last year, I had the privilege of connecting with the Startup Factory, an open startup incubation program dedicated to nurturing Montenegrin startups. Since then, I’ve been actively involved, participating in discussions about incubation strategies and contributing to workshops for the second batch of startups. Recently, we organized a workshop in Podgorica focused on product-market fit. 🎯 Our goal was to tailor the content for early-stage entrepreneurs—those who are navigating the exciting yet challenging journey of launching their products. We emphasized a crucial aspect: customer feedback. Why? Because it’s the compass that guides product development, ensuring that our solutions resonate with real-world needs. I’ve seen it too often when startup founders focused solely on their product and forgot to ask customers about their needs. 🔍 Engage with Your Audience Early and Often: Rahul Vohra suggests that you can start with as few as 40 customers to gather meaningful insights. But even if your customer base is smaller, I encourage you to go out and ask the right questions through a Product-Market Fit survey. Their insights are priceless. Max Filatov Innokenty Puntikov Olga Arifulina looking forward to doing more workshops with you and Startup Factory Montenegro!
Yesterday we held a joint workshop with the Secretariat for Entrepreneurship and Investments of the Capital City Podgorica at the Cultural Centre of the University of Montenegro. This is our first experience of organising a workshop with the support of the municipality and we believe that the start was successful. We are pleased to see that the government of Montenegro supports the development of innovative projects and initiatives such as our incubation programme Startup Factory Montenegro. Happy to be part of the new phase and continue to contribute to the development of startups in this region 🚀
