The Basque flag (or Ikurriña) is honored here by the Ikurriña Dantza ceremony. Formerly, the purpose of this tradition was to make large movements with the flag above the heads of the dancers in arms, allowing clans to compete by dance rather than by combat. fluidity but also the strength and savagery that emanate from the movements of the painting, wanted to express her feelings in this work. She is also still impressed by the ability of the Basque people to transform violence into something more pacifist and artistic.

Béatrice Alice Lafitte Irigaray is a painter and sculptor based in France whose pieces have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United States and Belgium. She describes her artistic practice as being inextricably linked with the Basque region, her origins. Through her works, Irigaray explores themes related to street art, comics, ecology, and feminism. Her distinctive composiitons are most often painted on aluminum.
