Take a leisurely walk through the Roncal valley and enjoy the magnificent natural environment and the 7 villages within the valley preserving their traditions and excellent gastronomy. Located in the northeast of Navarre, there is the Belagua Valley to the north and the Mesa de los Tres Reyes, the highest mountain in the community (2,442 m). The mountaineering routes are more demanding, but also the views are more spectacular.

Landscapes of forests, pastures and rock form the valley, with the Esca river running through it. Apart from the numerous sports activities that can be carried out, the Roncal also has a great cultural attraction due to its unique festivals and traditions, such as the Rafts Day and the Tribute of the Three Cows; as well as a gastronomic attraction, in which the Roncal Denomination of Origin cheese is a notable example.

Roncal is the capital of the valley, where the famous tenor Julián Gayarre’s tomb and the Church of San Esteban are located. Isaba, Burgui, Uztarroz, Garde, Urzainqui and Vidangoz are the other towns in the region, all full of charming places among its cobbled streets and beautiful mountain houses.

Access: By car or bus. The La Tafallesa transport company (948 700 979) has regular routes and daily services from Pamplona to the Roncal Valley.
