English eyes on Croatian starlet Knezevic

A host of Premier League and Bundesliga clubs are chasing Croatian sensation Bojan Knezevic, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Knezevic is regarded as one of the best young prospects to emerge from Croatia in recent years and is tipped to make the move to a top European league in the near future.

The 19-year-old has broken into the Dinamo Zagreb side this season and he started in the Champions League clash with Sevilla earlier this month.

Knezevic is currently the Croatia Under-19 captain and he is tipped to make the step up to the senior squad in the next 12 months.

The skillful midfielder’s performances for club and country have not gone unnoticed among clubs across Europe with scouts from Premier League and Bundesliga sides flocking to Zagreb to cast an eye over Knezevic with the midfielder impressing against England’s Under-19s.

Knezevic, who has been likened to Manchester City and Germany star Ilkay Gundogan for his style of play, is under contract at Dinamo Zagreb until 2020, but the Croatian club are bracing themselves for interest in the talented midfielder.
